“Role play.”

“Role play? Don’t expect too much—you’re not getting everything in one go,” she teased, a sparkle returning to her eyes.

“Ohh… there she is,” he grinned, feeling as if life itself had returned to him.

“Nothing major,” he said, voice low and playful. “Just an adult version of our childhood. You, my bossy Geet… and me, your obedient Gulam. The grown-up version of the… desires you used to tease me with back then.” He winked.

She bit her lip, smiling shyly, and tried to wriggle free from his lap.

“No excuses,” he warned, catching her in his arms and pulling her close again. “We’re doing this. You have the whole day to prepare.” And with that, he let her go, his mischievous grin lingering.

Rano and Mohinder – parents – it didn’t take them time to witness the genuine happiness on Geet’s face. At lunch hours, it was just four of them there. Geet was helping Rano in the kitchen. Maan entered the kitchen, ignored Geet and instead went to Rano for a chit chat. Rano didn’t miss some games happening between the kids. His mere appearance there brought a big smile on Geet’s face.

While the breakfast was being served, Maan took his seat, indulged in talks with Mohinder, but his eyes were every now and then on Geet and Geet couldn’t stop her smiles.

When Rano settled in room with Mohinder

“Our daughter – she completely changes with Maan around. I was so worried for her until the morning. And with this long-distance relationship of theirs, with Geet shrinking herself in the work. But Maan has his way around her that none of us has” Said Rano, finding the relief after finally seeing genuine smile on her daughter’s face

“She is our child but it feels like she is born just for him. When he is around, her world is happy, he is not around and she changes. Crazy girl! How does Maan handle her. How is it even possible for him to be around her with the huge business empire that he has established” Said Mohimder

“huhh… it’s not all Geet’s mistake. Maan is no less moody – we all know that. Once he gets into work, he goes into a zone” Rano defended her daughter.

“Rano, what are you talking about? You know Maan’s focus is what has helped him achieve his success. It’s not a joke to reach that level. Geet understands that Maan loves her deeply and is also aware of his dedication to his work. She has to support him, not make things difficult for him.”

“Let it be. You have been completely team Maan since he left us back then. Not that I am not. That boy left that mark on us. He was everywhere for us and we all only realized it when he left us. But between them, they are both grown up and its only them who knows how to handle each other. I just want this long distance relationship ends and they be back together.”

Later, Maan, Brij, and Yash went out, while Meera, Richa, and Geet decided to spend the rest of Sunday afternoon at home. The girls took turns teasing each other, mostly Richa and Geet. Rano joined in on the fun.

“Yeah, these two disappear for hours. Before Richa comes with some news, we should tie them up,” Meera laughed.

“So true, di,” Geet agreed.

“Richa, aisa waisa kuch nahi… aaan,” Rano teased, trying to suppress a giggle.

“We will soon finalize the dates. You guys be decent in the meantime,” Rano teased further, trying to sound stern.

“Mommm…” Richa complained, pouting and trying to hide her growing red face.

And then she turned to Geet

“You’re talking about me. Until Maan’s visit, you’ve been grumpy and serious, tormenting us with your gloomy face. And look at her now, Meera—laughing as if no work pressure exists.”

“I agree with Richa. Geet, promise you’ll stay this way even when Maan flies off to London. You make us feel so invaluable. We’re also equally part of your world.”

“Of course,” Geet answered.

“Of course,” Meera teased, making faces. “It doesn’t seem like that. Who hai to bahar hai…. Hum sab patjhar…”

“Di, that’s not fair,” Geet made a cute pout and turned to her mother.

“Mumma…,”

“Meera, stop teasing her,” Rano said, coming close to Geet and caressing her head.

“Stay happy like this always. Your sadness troubles us all.”

Geet was pushed against the wall, Maan almost leaning on her, his elbows resting on the wall on either side of her.

“Hmm… so, what’s the plan?” he said, raising his eyebrows with a teasing smile on his face.

Geet placed her index finger on his chest and tried pushing him. “Don’t forget you’re my gulam tonight,” she said.

Maan sighed and pulled her by her waist, gluing her to him. “Not only tonight, I’m your gulam for life,” he said, looking at her beautiful visage. “I’m eager and ready to take your orders.” Geet had a big smile on her face, but she soon hid her face in his chest. Maan knew she definitely had some crazy idea.

“The challenge was to see my old, bold Geet,” he reminded her.

Geet bit her lips. But soon lifted her head like a boss. “I want to take a bath, freshen up before going to bed,” she said.

Maan had a smile reaching both his ears. “I’m ready to help you with your wish, madam,” and he picked her in his arms.

Geet woke up with heavy eyes and grabbed her phone, her eyelids still drooping. Somehow forcing them open, she checked the time—10 a.m., Monday.

Within a second, she was on her feet. She glanced at Maan. He was sleeping like a log. Smiling softly, she covered him properly, placed a quick kiss on his cheek, and rushed to get ready.

By the time she came downstairs, it felt as if half the day had already passed. The house was quiet. Obviously, no one had disturbed them. Their breakfast sat covered on the dining table.

Geet didn’t have time to sit and relish it. She grabbed one paratha, rolled a little of the stir-fried veggies in it, and hurried out.

She went straight to Brij’s cabin.

“Veer ji, I’m sorry. I don’t know how…”

“No worries, Geet,” Brij replied calmly. “The two meetings with the investors went well. Your wonderful report worked wonders.”

He had no complaints. In fact, he looked proud of his sister.

“Outcome?” she asked urgently.

“They are confident about the project and feel very positive. They’re ready to invest on our terms.”

“That’s so great, Veer ji!”

Brij cleared his throat, a slight hesitation visible on his face.

“Geet, what do you think about pitching it to Maan for investment? Don’t take me wrong—I don’t want him to actually invest. I just want him to rate our pitch. You know how ruthlessly honest he is. If we’re able to answer his questions, we’ll know we’re solid. We don’t need his check… but his evaluation would mean a lot.”

“Veer ji, Maan wishes to keep his name separate from this success. But since this is only about refining our pitch, I think he’ll appreciate the approach.”

“If Maan Khurana gets impressed… that itself will be our big win.”

“So, we’ll do it formally. Send him an invitation for the pitch because Maan is the most raw and critical when he is in business mode.”

“Great! But who will initiate it? He’ll either decline straightaway or start probing us to reveal the entire plan.”

“Richa… Let Richa send the invitation. He knows that we will not be asking him for money. But when a formal invitation reaches him through Richa, he won’t be able to decline. He’ll have to be there.”

“Hm… great, Veer ji. You’ve planned it well.”

“It’s actually Richa’s plan.”

“Wow… then let her take the lead.”
