He held her arms tightly and pushed her firmly against the wall. “Will you ever trust me, Geet? That order was placed a month ago. I wanted it to be your engagement gift, but due to the specific features I requested, it was delayed by a few days.”

And before she could move away, he pressed his lips on her. And it was not in Geet’s control at that moment; her lips automatically opened, and he pushed his tongue inside hers, pouring his hours of waiting into that one deep kiss.

After they broke from the kiss, Geet looked everywhere but at him. Maan held her chin and made her look at him “You still doubt my sincerity to you?”

Geet kept looking at him, lost in the deep kiss, and she had no answer. She trusted his sincerity more than a hundred percent. But, just as Naina said, she wanted to enjoy his effort to convince, at least for a couple more days. It was such a beautiful feeling

“You called me for some documentation,” she reminded him of his text

“That car is in your name; you need to sign at a few places.”

“Why did you get it in my name?” “Don’t I have that right on you?” his question left her speechless.

Maan was looking outside the window, trying to decipher her reaction. He was just back after dropping her.

Ohh, her attitude. She had been adamant that the driver she had appointed for her was enough to drop her back. Though it was a different thing, he would not let anyone else drive her back when he was there.

“I asked her, and she ran away without an answer… What type of answer was that? Damn, it’s so difficult to understand these girls, and mine is a special one – Geet!! Khud confuse hai yaa mujhe confuse kerti hai – I don’t know.”

He took a deep breath and sighed, “Keep trying, Maan.”

But then he opened his phone and looked at his screen, which had her picture, screen saver, wallpaper, and wherever else it could be. A smile formed on his face

“If you are playing around, Geet, you will soon give up. You cannot get away on Maan’s charm.. hmmm. Aannd…” he dragged his word

“If you are truly still angry, you will as well give up. Main bhi dekhon, how my insignificant past weighs more than my present acts for you. “

The next morning, Geet arrived at the office, her clothing style reflecting a slight change. This wasn’t a shift in her personal taste, but rather an incorporation of Maan’s preferences. After all, if Maan chose something for her, it could only be of the highest quality.

And Geet no longer hesitated. It was his love, and she was enjoying feeling the love for the first time in her life. Feeling right after taking from him. He was hers. Just this feeling gave her jitters.

Excited to see him again, she took her steps towards her cabin. What was this craziness – “It’s just last night that he had dropped you, Geet, and you can’t wait to see him again.”

But her thoughts were interrupted by Shasha. “Good morning, Geet ma’am,” came Shasha’s voice, dripping with sarcasm.

Unexpected to Sahsha, Geet looked at her with a smile, “I know, I am your boss’s fianceé and soon to be his wife. But this is an office, and here you are, senior to me, and we work for the same boss.”

Shasha’s face fell as Geet threw the reality in her face, but soon gave a look, from head to toe – “Your clothing seems much more expensive than your earnings,” she smirked.

Geet gave back a smile to her again, unmoved. “I just do this job because I like working for my boss. My fiancé is a multimillionaire, and with the fastest-growing business in the country.”

“Well, why not. Heard that Manali had a lockdown, and you both had to spend the night together. You must have been the best, right?” Shahsa went further low

“Not a single word,” Geet showed her the finger on her face. “Don’t dare get into our personal space. One more time, I will not wait for Maan but will raise an HR case against you. And stop interfering in the personal life of my finacé and me,” She warned Shasha. Sahsha kept looking at her, shocked with unexpected confidence.

“If you can excuse me, I need to go to my cabin. Need to start my day.” Geet said. Not giving up anymore. Maan was hers, and she would not let anyone do anything to take away that feeling from her.

“Hey Geet, Good morning,” Greeted Pinky, and then the other passerby, wishing her as well. Shasha just left, seeing others greeting and teasing her a little.

Geet settled into her cabin to check her emails and prepare Maan’s schedule for the day, ensuring that by the time he arrived, everything would be perfectly organized—including his coffee.

Oh… she was secretly looking forward to their early morning conversations.

A knock sounded at her door. She looked up to see Pinky standing there.

“Pinky ma’am? Please come in,” Geet said, getting up.

“Stop calling any of us ma’am,” Pinky laughed. “We’re friends—and here to cause trouble for our men.”

Geet laughed along with her.

“And that’s exactly why I’m here, – this ma’am thingy” Pinky continued.

“Anyway, we have a culture of calling everyone by their name or preferred name. And now you’re the fiancée of our star partner. He’s slowly becoming the highest shareholder in this company and the biggest reason for its rapid growth.”

“That’s not how he sees it,” Geet replied softly. “He always says he’s in business because of his friends and that this company is a joint effort.”

“We know that,” Pinky smiled. “But facts are facts, and numbers speak for themselves. Anyway, that’s not why I came. Geet, you’re Maan’s fiancée and soon to be his wife. We were considering a few executive-level roles for you.”

“Why?” Geet asked immediately. “Can’t I continue the job I’m doing? I love this role. And I don’t want a position just because I’m marrying Maan. I don’t have the qualifications to handle something like that.”

“Geet, you don’t need to worry. You’ll learn with exposure. And I’m sure Maan would hire experts to support you.”

Geet shook her head gently. “The job I’m doing now, I earned it through hard work and dedication. I’m proud of that. I don’t want to be in a place where I know I didn’t reach it because of my own merit. Does Maan know about this?”

“Hmmm… we mentioned it to him during a phone conference,” Pinky admitted. “He suggested we ask you first.”

Then Pinky’s lips curved into a mischievous smile. “I must say, he’s already a little scared of you. Good going, girl.”

Geet’s cheeks flushed instantly. “He’s not scared… just…” She smiled, leaving the sentence unfinished.

Pinky refused to let it go. “Just what? It’s love. You’re lucky, girl! He’s madly in love with you.”

Geet bit her lip to hide her smile. “I should get back to work.”

“Alright,” Pinky grinned. “But do talk to him about what we discussed.”

“Hmmm…” Geet nodded softly, though her thoughts had already drifted elsewhere.

Geet was busy setting up his office, carefully arranging every file and document until everything was in perfect order. Once the work was done, she turned to what truly mattered to her—the little details that made up the aesthetics.

She placed fresh bunches of white and purple orchids, elegant roses in muted tones, white lilies, and sculpted hydrangeas in a crystal vase on his desk.

She stepped back, admiring her work, a tender smile playing on her lips as her thoughts drifted to the man for whom she had done all this. Absentmindedly, she brushed her fingers over the velvety petals, lost in him.

Suddenly, a firm arm slipped around her waist.

Geet gasped softly, startled by the warmth enveloping her. She turned—and there he was. Maan.

She stumbled slightly, her breath catching. “Aa… aap…”

Before she could gather herself, Maan drew her closer, his hand resting possessively at her slender waist. His masculine scent surrounded her, intoxicating and familiar. He pulled her so near that even the slightest shift would stain his crisp white shirt with the faint blush of her strawberry lip gloss.

“Leave me… this is the office,” she whispered, trying to wriggle free, her voice trembling more from awareness of their closeness. “What are you doing? Anyone could walk in…”

But her racing heart betrayed her far more than her words ever could.

“Shhh… no one enters my office without knocking,” he murmured, his lips curving into a slow, knowing half-smile. “Except one.”

His eyes lingered on her meaningfully.

Maan was clearly enjoying this—ready to tease her, to pamper her openly, to push every boundary just enough to see her surrender. He could sense she was no longer truly upset with him, and that gave him quiet confidence.

Slightly offended by his implication, Geet frowned. “I do knock before coming.”

“Hmm…” he hummed thoughtfully. “But when do you ever wait for my permission?”

Before she could argue further, he pulled her even closer.

Her heartbeat quickened uncontrollably. Being this close to him… his strong frame pressed against her softness… the firm way he held her, almost as if she belonged right there in his arms—it awakened unfamiliar sensations within her.

“Par haq hai tumhara…” he whispered huskily, his voice low and intimate.

A shiver ran down her spine.

He could feel her tremble, and it only deepened his smile. Maan was savoring every second of her hesitation. Slowly, deliberately, he lifted his free hand and let his fingers graze along her arm, barely touching to leave her breath unsteady.

“Yeh aap…” before she could complete, his finger touched her lips, and her words were swallowed in her throat. Geet gulped her saliva. What else could she do. She was feeling dizzy. Her dreams, right in front of her eyes.

“I thought you were still upset with me but…” he looked around his office, meticulously arranged by her

“I am your personal secretary. I was just doing my job,” she defended herself. Finding a brief moment, she slightly pushed him away to escape his intoxicating closeness. The feeling was so addictive that her legs almost refused to move away. Geet quickly created some distance between them before her heart betrayed her.

“Your job… hmmm.. I see” he said, touching the flowers in the vase, teasing her. Beautiful flowers clearly told; it was way more than a secretary’s job.

“I have set up everything for you,” she said and turned to leave. She must have just taken a step towards the door when he grabbed her wrist and pulled her to collide with his chest.

He looked deep into her eyes, held her arms near her shoulders, and softly pushed the lost Geet against the wall.

Slowly tracing his hands downward through her arms , his fingers found hers. He gently intertwined his into hers.

Geet was left speechless— motionless. How could she deny this beautiful closeness?

“Are you truly still upset with me, Geet?” he asked.

“I don’t know,” she said in a low voice. Maan lifted his right hand on her cheek, rubbing her soft skin with his thumb. Geet felt so helpless inside her heart. She was supposed to show him her anger, but here, she was simply standing still, letting him do whatever to her.

The way he was showering her with affection, his closeness and handsomeness, made her long to melt into his arms.

Maan took all his time to admire her beautiful face, which was turning red due to all the sensations he was filling her with.

“You can be upset with me for as long as you feel. I will endlessly keep trying to win your trust.”

Maan was talking to her, but his eyes could not leave her shivering pink petals. He traced his thumb on her shivering lips. Geet’s breath stopped in her chest.

“I am not my regular self around you. What have you done to me, Geet?” he said and pressed his lips on hers, pulling her close to him so that she was glued to him.

Vulnerable Geet opened her mouth for him to take the lead. He kept pulling closer and closer as the passion of their kiss took heights.

“This is how you plan to try winning me?”

“I am ready to take any punishment. ”

“I have to go. You have back-to-back meetings. You should look into the documents.”

“Okay, at least have a cup of coffee with me.” Maan didn’t know what was happening to him. He just didn’t want her to leave.

“I do not take coffee, I take tea. Anyways, you do not want me as your secretary anymore.” And before she got weak with his closeness, she rushed out of his office.

The work was beyond Geet’s knowledge, but since Maan had assigned it to her, she knew she had to do what her boss asked. This task prompted her to reach out to Adi, Karan, Simran, Pari, Pinky, and a few other executives.

In front of her friends, she confided in them, “Is this a personal secretary’s job? I don’t understand the intricacies of this work, and he wants me to create a plan and present it to him.”

Her friends understood that it was all Maan’s plan. “If your boss is extremely overwhelmed with work and needs your assistance in this initial phase, as a personal secretary, would you step down?” they asked.

“No, I won’t,” Geet replied, expressing her concern. “If I can do it right and relieve him of his burden.”

“He trusts your abilities, and we’re here to help,” said Pari.

“Thanks,” Geet replied. “Yes, he is indeed overwhelmed. When I was scheduling his meetings, it was incredibly challenging to find his time. How does he manage everything? It’s beyond my comprehension.”

“And yet, you still want to abandon the trust he has placed in you?” asked Pinky.

“I just fear that if I can meet his expectations and genuinely help him,” Geet explained.

“You will, Geet,” Karan reassured her. “And why are we all here? You’re a quick learner, and you’ll do it.”

The days passed in a whirlwind for both Geet and Maan.

Maan immersed himself in mergers, negotiations, and new ventures, expanding horizons with his usual determination. Geet, on the other hand, became the silent force behind his seamless world -managing schedules, organizing documents, taking dictations, ensuring every detail aligned perfectly so his work flowed smoothly. Alongside that, she was deeply involved in planning the launch of the new office, learning new things in the process and pouring dedication into it.

And then there was Naina Bhabhi and her mother-in-law, who had practically claimed Geet for endless shopping trips. In all the wedding excitement, Maan was shamelessly sidelined. Geet was in high demand.

Whenever someone teased him about being ignored, Maan would simply shrug with a faint smile. But deep inside, he cherished every bit of affection Geet received. Somewhere along the way, without even realizing it, her happiness, her dreams, her smallest wishes had quietly become his highest priority. Marriage would merely formalize what was already true – she had become the center of his world.

Amidst the chaos, they stole moments whenever they could.

Saturday mornings were sacred.

Before the world fully awoke, Maan would take her out on his bike for a long ride. It became their ritual, something both of them waited for all week. Geet would sit behind him, arms wrapped tightly around his torso, her cheek sometimes resting against his back as he sped through the quiet roads. The crisp morning air, the faint scent of dew, and his familiar fragrance surrounding her, it felt of belonging.

They often rode up behind the hills to watch the sunrise. The sky slowly melting into gold, birds chirping softly, the world stretching awake around them. In the slight chill of the morning breeze, Geet would instinctively wrap her arms around herself—only for Maan to pull her into his warmth without a word.

Sometimes they walked near the water, the silence between them heavier with unspoken emotions. And when the closeness became too overwhelming, restraint would falter.

He would draw her into his arms, holding her as though she were something precious and fragile. His hands had learned her. They naturally they found her waist, how gently one palm cradled her head, how subtly he tilted her face to deepen their kiss.

Maan carried old-school values in his heart, and he would not cross that line before marriage. Yet sometimes love blurred boundaries. His kisses would grow deeper, more lingering, leaving her breathless and trembling in his embrace. And Geet never pulled away.
