Maan, all this while, had been moving ahead—successfully, aggressively—towards his goals. Mergers, takeovers, rising profit margins, and steadily hollowing out the very target he had set his eyes on. Everything was in place. The stage was set. The date was fixed.

Had the space he had asked from Geet helped him achieve all this?

Logically, his answer was a firm yes. The distance had allowed his mind to focus—undistracted by her sudden presence, her emotions, her effect on him. His mind agreed with this. Believed it. Justified it.

And yet, there was a constant hitch in his heart.

He tried to bury it efficiently under logic and reasoning, but it never really left. It surfaced at odd moments, troubling him, unsettling him. As time passed, that uneasiness only grew. Why?

Because some moments went straight past logic and hit his heart.

    Chapter 31

    Grand update… finely written

    Mr Chadha was indeed worried about their business

    of cos Geet was working on her relationship with the elder Khuranas

    great that she got to know more about Maan

    so Maan did not have a childhood and had to take on responsibilities at the age of sixteen

    admire Maan’s determination and focus

    Geet’s thoughts were reasonable

    she now understands Maan much better

    Maan is naturally keeping himself distracted

    as expected Geet was there

    Maan’s reaction was anticipated

    well Geet flirted with Maan

    Maan’s comments were justified

    Maan was deliberately rude to Geet as he does not want to get hurt again

    not surprised that Geet wants one chance to prove herself

    Maan clearly refused

    Gosh he told that she can get her needs from someone else

    Maan accused Geet of forcing herself in his life

    Geet had a valid point

    now she confronted Maan

    oh she will keep her distance from him

    Maan was so sarcastic to Geet

    Maan was engrossed with his work

    Vicky and Annie were kept on their toes

    Annie wanted to do her own thing and Maan agreed

    Geet kept away from Maan

    her thoughts and fears were justified

    her hopes are shattering

    at least she kept busy with work

    glad that she formed a bond with the elder Khuranas and Vicky

    alas Annie was waiting for Geet to leave

    pleased that Raj, Sandhya and SD saw Geet’s genuine efforts

    liked that they saw that she deeply and genuinely loves Maan

    they certainly cannot see Geet’s pain

    good that he decided to intervene

    Maan’s thoughts were understandable

    he did notice that she avoids him

    he realised that he hurt her too deeply

    his fight with his brain and heart was well portrayed

    Chadhas are feeling the heat

    the board members and Sujit Chadha demanded answers

    Dev blamed Maan and taunted him

    however the board members were impressed with Maan

    good that Sujit berated Dev

    Dev’s comment about Maan’s sister angered Sujit

    Dhanush and Dev’s curiosity was justified

    Dev’s grandfather did something to Maan’s grandfather

    Maan is out for revenge

    eager to know what happened in the past

  12. Finally got to read the part!!! It’s just lovely how you have written. So geet one chance but maan is not willing to give her it’s acceptable as he doesn’t want to get hurt again. He have got hurt badly before. So finally geet is able to make the good bonding with the elders and start leaving from there whenever maan comes and he start noticing the difference between them.

    Hope this dev won’t do something to target Annie and do something wrong.
