Chapter 56 – Rediscovering

Maan had gotten himself busy with all family duties. Checking into Mohinder’s health with Yash and doctors. The improvement was tremendous. Medication and best physiotherapy was one reason for it but Maan being by his side had helped magically. He could now walk holding canes in both hands and  speak a little more clearly, His hand movements increased as well.

Along with being there for Mohinder, Maan for the first week, he let Geet enjoy it with her family while he himself visited the office to check the progress at the office front with Brij and Richa.

Brij also arranged meetings of his top executives with Maan.

Geet on the other side, went shopping with Meera and her Mom, caught up with her old friends and spent time with her Dad. 

After exhaustively understanding the status of the company for a whole week, Maan got enough idea how the company was running. He judged that Brij was pulling it well with the help from Richa but still  there was lots of scope of improvement in various areas for it to flourish as expected. He observed the areas where Geet’s strength can be utilized. 

Maan became so engrossed in fixing things everywhere that he hardly had time for Geet. By the time he got home, Geet would already be asleep, either worn out from the day’s activities or frustrated from waiting for him. Geet began to miss his presence and warmth. Maan missed being close to her too, but he saw this as an opportunity to address all the issues around him since he was staying there.

It was Sunday morning, and Maan had decided to take a break to spend time with his sweetheart. He had planned to come home early the previous night so they could be together, but, as usual, he ended up working on files until late into the night.

He opened his eyes with the sunlight hitting on his eyes. The thin sears were only able to lessen the intensity of sun but the room was bright. Also the Handas now stayed in the four bedroom apartment unlike his grand mansion which has privacy for acres and acres as per his wish. 

Thus the hustle and bustle of the neighbors along with the day’s brightness added to disturb his sleep.

Maan had considered moving the family to a larger private house. Although it would have been easy for him to provide a big house in an upscale area, it wasn’t feasible when taking other parameters into account.

He couldn’t insult Brij, Meera, and Geet by flaunting his wealth with a grandiose gesture. Maan wanted to be there for the family mentally, emotionally, and physically if needed. Financially, he was fully covering his uncle’s medical expenses, as that was above what anyone’s opinions or feelings were.

Maan sat down to find his sweetheart gone. That much is enough to tell him that she was upset. 

Maan came out and settled in the living area where the whole family was gathered. Meera and Yash have their own engagements so they would be missing this Sunday here.

Geet came with a tray of coffee-tea and snack for Rano, Mohinder and Maan and turned to leave 

“You??” Maan intervened 

Geet turned to her mother “Mumma, I will get the breakfast ready.” And she left.

After she left “Mom, is there any help in the kitchen with Geet”

“Hmm, Chanda is helping “ she mentioned about the house help .

“Can she help in cleaning ?”

Rano understood.. ohh she has seen the two from childhood , how could she not know what he was trying to say.

“ yeah, she is actually need to deep clean the rooms” saying so she called out for Chanda

Geet was busy making fresh sauce for pasta. Geet knew Maan loved the fresh sauce in pasta. It was possible at his place because he had so many chefs working for him. But Geet did not want him to miss on such things. 

Geet strained the boiled pasta and placed it to cool on the tray when pair of hands slipped around her waist and chin on her shoulder. Geet circled her shoulder, indicating him to move away but he instead hugged her tighter

“Bohut naraz ho na”

“Why? should I be? You must’ve to go for important work, so let me prepare the breakfast “ 

“Aaj pura din meri Jaan ke liye”

“ but I am busy today “

He nuzzled his nose tip in the crook of her neck, of course testing her control.

“ What’s more important than me to my Jaan” he inhaled her aroma, filling his and her heart for the days missed. Of course, making her weak.

“Maan, Dad need to have medicine after breakfast”

He pulled her even closer, almost cocooning her to him “when am i stopping you, your hands free but i am not leaving you”

She was melting he could tell but still Geet maintained “Maan please, I am..” but by now he had started placing soft kisses on open area around her neck and shoulder

“Hmmm bolo” he rubbed his lips on her cheeks from behind

“everything doesn’t work on your mood”

“Toh miss kiya mujhe, bolo na” and he twirled her to turn toward him and again bringing her in his grip. She hated being enchanted by his charm

“Leave me”

“Sachchi” he pulled her closer. her hand landed on his shoulder for support, but remembering her anger she removed it. Maan took her hand and placed it back, Geet again removed it and Maan again placed it back. Geet lost her control and tears filled in her eyes, she pouted and started hitting him. Maan pulled her closer in tight hug

“Sorry Jaan”

“You have made me like a wax doll. Just melt it the way you want”

He traced his fingers on her face and pushed back her hair flock “Jaan, it was needed to check on where things are”

“Fine, there is endless work here for you, endless people to take care of. so this whole month will be gone by you looking over things. What I want is a childish wishes of mine for you, so why waste your busy time on my silly talks”

she removed his hands “Let me get the breakfast ready”

He placed a kiss on her cheeks “okay,only for Dad. Let me help you too”

She looked at him “Maan please” He bent to her by supporting himself on the slab

“leaving now. but I am kidnapping you for the day”

She did not say anything. “Typical Geet” he talked mentally but was now restless to please her, sooth her anger

Maan settled on the dining table, Richa and Brij joined as well

“What happened Maan?” Rano was skeptical

“Nothing Mom, she is busy preparing Sunday breakfast for all. Mujhe help bhi nahi kerne diya”

“kab badi hogi yeh ladki, I don’t know” Rano was pissed off

“What happened Mom?” asked Brij and Richa in unison

“Well nothing happened Mom. Geet is simply preparing breakfast for all with love”

Rano gave a smile to him “Okay, I will go help her serve” with excuse Rano went in the kitchen

“Geet!!”

“Yes Mom, it’s all ready”

“So, the moment you are here, you have started your attitude drama with Maan”

Geet turned to Rano “Mom.. noo”

“Listen Geet, Maan as usual will not say anything. But you have to remember, you are his wife and need to respect him as his wife and what all he has done and is still doing. Earlier we supported you in your crazy behavior. Now no more”

Before Geet could explain, Rano left, giving her the warning look. How can she tell her Mom, how happy she was, that now her family is completely on his side. She can anytime happily take these anger from them if it calls for supporting him over her. Even though this time her mom misunderstood her anger but never mind as it was all in his favor.

They all enjoyed Sunday brunch prepared exclusively by Geet, a different speciality for all. 

“wow!!! brilliant” Maan exclaimed taking the first bite. Of course he loved it but he was also waiting for a chance to praise her.

Geet, in the process of avoiding Maan, had been involved in talks with Richa for an hour. She was not ready to give in so soon. Why would she? Though her heart had been aching to be with him, in his arms, be pampered by him but no, she was not going to give in this time.

After an hour, Richa left with Brij for their Sunday time together.

Geet was on way to her room when she was suddenly pulled in the corner and placed on the wall bordered on both sides by the strong arms of her husband. 

“Maan!!”

“Hmm…” he came closer

“Anyone could come”

“Noone will come. Mom is with Dad, taking care of him. She won’t be out for an hour, Brij and Richa have already left for their day. Now are we ready to start our day” He placed his one hand on her waist to get a grip of her and pulled her to him

“What do you want?”

“You very well know what do I want” and while saying so, he bent, picked her in his arms and led to their room

While throwing her on the bed, he jumped on top of her “Abhi bhi wahi nakhre”

“Maan”

“But no problem, I love it” he said looking deeply into her eyes but then he felt her eyes were glittering with wetness 

“Geet, tum ro rahi ho” he asked, concerned now. Till now he was okay, with her ‘roothna’ in his absence but this was unbearable. Did he do something to bring tears to his Jaan’s eyes?

Geet then pulled him in a tight hug. Maan sat down and made her sit on his lap, whipping her tears one by one from his thumb. So much love, Geet was lost. And that was her complaint, his love for everyone that he lost himself.

“Maan” she tried to get on the bed, but he pulled her tight to ensure she stayed on his lap and then arranged her hairs to get clear view of her face

“Maan” “hmm bolo.. all day for you and if that is less, will give you more”

“Maan, I do need your more time, not more but all your time, not for myself but for yourself”

She looked worried and Maan definitely could not let her be worried

“Okay, tell me, what about me is worrying you.”

Geet turned on his lap face him directly, placing both her thighs on his either side “Maan, you know, when we were coming here, I was so nervous”

“Yes, but see how you are all set now. You have grown up”

“Yes Maan, even I was scared that I will be back to the arrogant Geet, seeing you giving your attention to others but Maan, now it’s not about me but you”

“Meee?” Geet cupped his face

“Maan I have moved on from our childhood but you are still standing at the same point when my family is in concern”

He raised his eyebrows with a smile, she paused “I am listening.. keep going. I want to listen what my grown up Geet has to say”

“Maan, I am still you baby girl” she pouted

“I won’t let you be anything else” he pulled her to press a quick yet intense kiss on her lips

“But Maan, you have to grow up. You are still there and doing the things for the house that you did back then but Maane and my family, now they want to do things for you and want you to enjoy. I want you to chill and enjoy. You were just here for a month but now it’s hardly some days above 2 weeks. What have you been doing , keeping yourself busy fixing things here. Maan, things here are not that bad after all and Maan we siblings are not bad after all.

I know we are not as perfect or capable as you but I promise, we will do our best.”

“I trust you Geet”

“I know you don’t trust us, at least in my family. I know I had been a mess but Maan you have brought me here, giving me responsibility, so keep trust and…”

“Andd..”

“Maan, I want you to enjoy the days you are here. Mom wants to take care of you. She will never complain about anything you do, but you know, now you are the son-in-law of this house and the person she is so attached to, she wants to do things for you. But you are not available because you are busy fixing things here. I want you to just let it go, let this family pamper you, see you enjoy your life here. You will again get busy in your life with your huge empire, but these few day, ….”

Maan placed finger on her lips “Shhhh….I understand “

He kept looking at her eyes “I am very proud of you. See how far you have come, completely surprised me”  he couldn’t hold but pulled her closer his hand going inside her shirt 

“ but do you understand if I am with no work, your work increases “ he winked

Geet hugged him to control on the sensation he was creating “you really are ready to trust me” 

“All ready to enjoy my days, relax andd….” He unhooked her bra. Of course Maan already started enjoying his holidays; starting with his favorite dish, his sweet wifey.

Geet had been missing him as well like  anything and she simply lost herself in his arms. Maan completely dipped himself inside her, and Geet let him do whatever. In his arms, she just wanted to melt.

Ohh, his strong body, the warmth of it, she was so lost in it  and it was all win-win for Maan. He was simply writing a story on her whole body with his kisses and she giving poetic reactions to each kiss.

Week passed with Maan actually enjoying his days, more for Geet and Rano. Rano was enjoying doing it for him.  Maan simply made a point to be with family and mostly trouble his wife who would come to him for understanding the business complexity. Well he demanded his own kind of payment for each queries. Does Geet have any complaints, no way. Though between their passion, Geet got a pretty good idea of their business and the loopholes in it.

A week passed and it was early morning Sunday, Maan had his head supported on his hand and his eyes fixed on his beautiful wife’s beauty. Geet pouted and pulled the cover up, Maan smiled and pulled it down. She frowned and again pulled it up, he simply pulled it down.

“Maann!!” “Hmmm” he hummed with a smile

“stoppp” “unn hunn” he denied

“Maa-aan” she again covered. He still had that naughty smile on his face as he pulled the cover down

“Sharm aati hai, please”

“Acchcha, sharam aati hai??” he hovered over her “Listen Darling, I have read this book countless times now, and now you are feeling shy”

Geet lovingly wrapped her hand around his nape “Then you must have been bored of this book, right?”

“Cchhh” he twisted his lips with a sound , negating her “The story here is so addicting, the more I read the more I need to read” and saying so he dipped the tip of his nose in her valley

There was knock on the door

“Love birds, open the door”

“Maan Diii” Geet immediately pushed Maan, but Maan pulled her closer “shhh.. stay quiet, she will go”

But Meera knocked harder and harder. She has been busy for a week and love birds have got enough time to enjoy their honeymoon here. Now she was back in full mood to trouble them.

Geet pushed Maan and ran to the washroom. Maan put on his pajamas and inner vest and lazily opened the door

“What?”

“I am your elder sali, talk with respect” Meera reminded

“Elder?? respect?? I’m elder in age” Maan laughed in mock

“I am an elder sister to your wifey dear, my status goes up that way. Anyways , what was happening? I was knocking, did you not hear?” They were fighting like kids. Who would say he is the top international business leader?

“Sunday morning, beautiful wife, what will one do??”

“Shameless. Anyways, move, let me in. Need to talk to both of you”

“aahhan haanha… want to sneak peak newlyweds room.” Meera shook her head and before Maan would judge her act she dodged from under Maan’s hand and went inside the room

“Meera!! That’s unfair, unethical and unacceptable..” he saw how shamelessly her eyes were fixed on the messy bed, their clothes hidden peeking from the cover

She narrowed her eyes to him 

“How does Yash bear you? “

“That is Yash’ problem. Well, you both come downstairs in 10 minutes. We have an announcement to make”

“What? second one on the way..”

“Shut up. Come down with your ‘beautiful’ wife” she emphasized, teasing him back

Geet and Maan came down. Maan did  handshake with Yash

“Maan, Meera and myself, we wanted you both to spend a couple of days with us. Give us a chance to..”

“Yash, this formal?” Meera intervened

“Listen Mr. Maan and Geet Singh Khurana, you both are kidnapped for three days, spending time with us”

Maan looked at Yash “see. Your wife I am telling Yash”

“Yehhh.. Di we are going to have a blast” Now Yash showed sister’s excited hug to Maan. Maan raised his hands and surrendered to the sisters’ wishes.
