Chichore – Scene 2

Khurana Mansion, diner table:

Both Khurana and Handa family were available and having family chit chat while the dinner was being laid on the table.

Geet was settled as well, chatting with Annie. Annie is always a relief. She is a big help in avoiding that flirty. But where is he? She wondered

“Where is Maan, Aunty?” Asked her veerji. Did he read her mind? She wondered

“He is busy with his assignment. He will be here in ten minutes”

“Jaroor kuch khurafat chal raha hoga mujhe pareshan karne ke liye. First day, who gets assignments” She wondered. Again as if her Brij Veerji read her mind

“But Aunty it was just the first day of session”

“First day but in final year, they started with work even before the session started”

“Kitna pardta hai yeh ladka” praised her Papaji. Geet cribbed to herself, how he has impressed everyone in his and her family. Only she knows what a chepoo he is. She will definitely expose him one day.

Ohh she has been trying to do it for years, but has not succeeded yet. But now she will. Like always, she is determined.

“Annie, go call him dear. Whole family has gathered”

‘Not fair Dad. You all always make me run for him.Why does he not come when all the elders are here” 

Annie gave a sibling fight, giving Geet a heartfelt relief. Someone stood against his made up perfect personality. Poor girl doesn’t know, Maan has himself instigated Annie to not run into orders for him

“You are growing up. They should stop treating you as child, right Annie”

“Bhai you are the best. Only you understand me. I am growing up”

Sandhya, Maan’s mom shook her head “Rehne de … Geet puttar, can you call him?”

Geet’s eyes widened as her victory was so short lived. She can’t argue with Aunty. Her own family will give her lectures and sing songs in his praises as how he respects all elders, etc etc…

“Ji… ji Aunty”

She was about to get up but an idea struck her. No way she is succumbing to his plan and be a toy for his entertainment

“Annie, call him in the meanwhile” Geet suggesting sounding genuine

“Geet, Bhai has sent his phone with me. He was getting disturbed by his friend’s continuous call. Kitne famous hain bhai.. Whole collage just needs him for everything”

Now she was sure, it was all his plan.

“Geet go… call him” came from her Daarji. Another big fan of him

Geet with a heavy heart went to call him. On her way to his room continued getting words of his praises

“Commendable.. This level of sincerity at this age. We are so proud, Geet will have him as her life partner” Geet heard her mother, Rano. 

“Haan… main kuch thordi hoon… sab toh wahi hai… meherbani hai janab kee mujhpe. Let me find a boyfriend soon…I will then say no to him.. On his face, in front of everyone” Geet smiled at her dream. But when and how she will get her boyfriend was a big question. But she was eagerly waiting for one so that she could say No to him, on his face.

Maan was actually doing his assignment but now was done. He had set up Annie, so was soon expecting Geet. Naughty smile appeared on his face with mere thought of her and her cute angry face. 

But soon there was a knock on his door. Mischievous smile automatically formed on his face

“Come in” he said placing his focus on his assignment folder

“Elders are waiting downstairs” Maan turned his chair along with him, a smile adorning his handsome face. Uff he was hearing her sweet anger filled voice after the whole three months.

Geet’s eyes got stuck on his handsome face and her heart raced. But she has full control of her heart, well she worked hard on believing that and kept convincing herself. This cheap, flirty chichora cannot be her boyfriend. 

“Na Hi… na hello… haal chaal hee puch liya hota” he said in a full flirty tone and got up to get close to her. Geet stepped back as he approached and in the process closed the door behind her back. Maan got a chance to border her between his arms.

“Hayyy… its been three months…itne dino baad apne chaand ka didaar ho raha hai”

He closed his face near her, making his breath fall on her face. Maan was enjoying his affect on her as she tried to hide it behind her anger.

“Stop behaving like a roadside romeo. I have my class. By the way, I just came to call you downstairs”

“Banaoo mat” he hit her shoulder with his “There were others who could have called me. Your heart was as restless to meet me…” he said in as much flirty way as could be 

Then without waiting for her response continued 

“Sorry, got bit busy… tumse milne nahi aa paya pehle” 

“To break your bubble, I have other things than to think about you”

Maan traced her arm length from his fingers as he slid slantly on the door, sending currents in her body. She hated the effect. No this flirty cannot stir her heart

“Woo aap.. Woo dur rahiya”

“Heyyy… kuch kuch hota hai” Geet closed her eyes in frustration

“Jane dijiye mujhe.. “

“Hwww…This is how dry you talk to your future hubby and your senior” he had a smile adorned on his face. 

Geet did not know what irked her about him, his handsome face and the feel that his closeness stirred within her, however hard she tried, or everyone in ‘awe’ with him or his cheap flirty acts that he had reserved for her only.

How can she accept this flirty as her husband? She has to find a boyfriend soon. She was sure in college she would find one, definitely.

“Kahan kho gayee… lost in my handsome face… I know, girls cannot take their eyes off me.. Aur tum toh diwanee ho meri” He closed to her as if breathing her, teasing the hell out of her. 

“Jane jaana… ooo jane jaana” he hummed the sensual song in his silly flirty tone

“Sabko bol dungi main aapkee harkaten”

Maan smiled and closing the door knob and supported himself on door, with his elbow on door and he leaning against the door, supporting his head on his palm

“Bol do meri Jaan”

“Haan toh bol hee dungee” he wrapped his hand around her waist and pulled her to him and lifted his hand to place on her chin to lift her face

“Hayyyee… ” 

She pushed him, gave an angry glare, opened the knob and left. Maan followed behind her like a gentleman.

At dinner table 

“What happened, you guys took so long.”

“Nothing Dad, was just catching up with Geet. How was her first day? I didn’t see her in college, so I was worried. Second and Third year students get excited about ragging”

Geet’s eyes widened and she tightened her lips in anger looking at him, only to get a quick wink from him

“We are so rest assured that Geet is staying here and studying in the same college as yours.” Said her Papaji, with big relief.

“No uncle, Geet is an independent girl. She doesn’t need me to protect her.” He said with genuine look to her Dad and then turned to give her his silly teasing smile

“Independent?.. Huunn… Jhalli hai bilkul. Filmi bhoot sawar hai iske ser per” cribbed Brij. Maan closed his eyes tight, knowing this will irk her further.

“Yes I am filmy and that is me” Geet said irritatedly and her angry glare was served to Maan, who took it with a smile.

As dinner finished, Geet left from there first, As everyone left for their respective rooms or walk, Maan grabbed Brij’s hand

“Veerji, why are you hell bent on making my life tough”

“What’s the problem? Any normal girl will be happy if her family fixes her alliance with her childhood love… wooh ker diya toh now she wants a  love marriage… boyfriend dhoondhna hai inhe”

“Any normal girl will be happy but she is Geet.. aapki Geet, meri Geet .. humari Geet.  When she always  wanted a love marriage, why do you elders have to fix it and make it an arranged marriage? And now again you irked her”

“Maan, back out from this marriage… she will then know what she is losing”

“No Veerji, rejection is a big thing for any girl. And she is my Geet, I can never reject her.”

“Then what are you trying to do… she is getting more irked”

“She wants to find a boyfriend and reject me. I am giving her reasons to reject me. Only if she hates me, she can fall for anyone”

“And you really think she can find anyone that she wants more than you”

“If she wants that, I can help”

“Maan, she is insane, you don’t add to it”

“Good Night Veerji”

Maan looked at retreating figure of Brij and the devilish smirk formed on his face

“Conditions applies, Veerji. Only if she can hate me and fall for anyone else… which will never happen. Geet toh Maan kee hee hai”

Next morning, the freshers were caught by their respective seniors. Geet and her group saw freshers doing all sorts of silly stuff… some were dancing, some singing, some moving in silly ways, few proposing… etc etc.

“Yaar… why is no senior interested in us” cribbed Pinky

“Yes, see how all juniors are getting chance to impress seniors” added Tasha

“Shut up both of you. Why do we need to impress seniors and do all this joker stuff to be in their good book”

“Geet this is how college works. College is not only run by lecturers and professors. Good terms with seniors help in participation and also in academics” Added Pari

“Yes, My cousin Nikita, she is in 3rd year. Her senior, he is very helpful to her. He is a bit bossy but no one minds as he always comes to everyone’s help. Everyone wants to be in his good book”

Geet’s mind brightened. Someone she can befriend and show down Maan

“Pari, Yaar, we should try to go make terms with such seniors” Said Geet excited

“No.. no girls. Don’t get ideas. He is a final year student and we are fresher. What will we talk to him?” hesitated Adi

“Pari, do you know his name?” asked Geet. She wanted to befriend this powerful senior to answer Maan

“By heart. Nikita keeps talking about him so much. His name is Maan Singh Khurana” Geet’s dream of finding a powerful boyfriend crashed there and then.

“Chaddo”

After some time, some seniors approached them “Hey you fresher, lucky day for you all. Most popular senior wants to meet your group” They were asked to follow.

The 2nd year seniors showed them the one waiting for them and left.

As Geet and her group reached there, the senior in jeans and leather jacket was sitting on his monster bike facing his back to them

 “Si–r. s-i-r” Adi called out to get Senior’s attention. And then senior turned removing his sun glass

His eyes first went on Geet who was standing there shocked and irritated
