Enchanted – Inception

He supported her in front of all. Yes, he supported her as Rani Sahiba of Kalsia and not his wife but still her heart was beaming with joy. His last sentence went inside her heart. She will prove his words right. She has fallen in his eyes as his wife but she will rise up and walk straight to his heart as his wife.

They sat in the car for his work in Kalsia.  Seated beside her husband and a person who she has bad crush on as her husband and as boss.

Geet was now and then looking at him but he was busy into his phone, looking into some calendar and schedules.

“Can we talk please” she said looking at him               

“Regarding?” he said still looking at his phone 

“Us”

“You are coming to Kalsia with me as Rani Sahiba. Take it as responsibility. I am not forcing it on you”

“I really want to be your partner in your work. I am coming with seriousness. I am not asking you to trust me. I know it’s not easy.” He did not say anything.

In Kalsia, as Raja Sahib, he had planned to meet few new members of Kalsia. If any bride is new to Kalsia or any child is born, Raja Sahib would once in 5-6 months keep plan to meet new member of city.  This only brought the loyalty towards Royals and Kalsia among people. He ardently believed in Leadership by example. It was not easy task for big entrepreneur like him but Kalsia was equally important to him.

As the royal vehicle entered one of the small alley, the kids came running. Car speeded very slow and kids kept clinging to the car. Raja Sahib had no annoyance, he smiled at all kids. Geet simply kept looking at her husband, he was so young dynamic. Can be heart beat raiser of so many girls but his gesture in kalsia was of what a mature man, who must have seen phases of life.

At one point the car stopped, security came forward and then moved back and Raja Sahib and Rani Sahiba walked side by side. Driver knocked the small door of Chaudhary Charanjeet Singh. Door opened and the lady in her 60’s was shocked to see the driver

“Raja Sahib is here with Rani Sahiba to bless the new born”

“Raja Sahib” the lady could not believe, came forward and joined her hands and sat down on her knees in respect

“Please don’t do this” Maan held her shoulder and raised her up “Wanted to see the little one. Can we come in?” Geet mutely looked at him, how humble he was.

“Just order Raja Sahib, don’t ask. Everything here is yours, we belong to you Raja Sahib. Come in please”

She ran and informed the family. Everyone in family gathered and welcomed them with whatever they had. Everyone got into hustle bustle to fix the area to make the king and queen seated.

“Stay calm everyone. We are fine to be seated the way you leave.”

“Raja Sahib you are here, it’s matter of pride for us. Let us do what all we can please” pleaded an old man.

“So am I not member of families of kalsia? If you do formality with me how will I know the real Kalsia.”

They made them settled. Whatever Raja Saheb said, but kids were made to run from backdoor for welcome arrangement. Geet was looking at Middle class house of Kalsia, yet very neatly done. Everyone here was so simple yet content.

Raja Sahib started talking to elders regarding their wellbeing and issues. While Geet looked at kids and waved at them. But Geet being her childish self, got involved with kids. Slowly more neighbors poured in and their kids came as well. Elders were focused on Raja Sahib whereas Geet made herself busy with kids. Slowly-slowly completely getting involved in them. She handed chocolates and stuff to them, teasing them. They became friendly with her and forgot she was Rani Sahiba. Maan while talking to elders, could not miss the childish wife of his, completely involved in kids. The way she was making faces and her acts, his eyes now and then went to her.

Once a kids tricked her and took stuff from her hand and she made baby face and Raja Sahib saw it. He turned other side as smiled form on his face with her acts. She looked spotless, filled with liveliness. Had he not seen her flirting with him, not as her husband, it would have been different.

He actually felt happy of the way she handled the visit, being herself.  

Later the lady brought the new born child for Raja Sahib’s blessings. As the baby came, Maan saw the excitement in Geet’s eye. She was so eager to hold the new born in her hand. The lady passed Geet and was handling baby to Raja Sahib

“Place the baby in Rani Sahiba’s hand” he signaled to Geet. Lady did as she was asked to. Geet’s face glowed as she held the baby. Maan for few moments forgot what blunder she has done and got lost in her happiness.

They later visited few more commoners, Maan discussed the issue and well-being while Geet gelled in with ladies and kids in her own way. But in all this liveliness and childishness, she never left the dignity of Rani Sahiba. He had observed her whole day; she may have her own way but she was doing good in her role as Rani Sahiba.

By the time they came, Geet was all tired while Maan, as Raja Sahib and as businessman, MSK, had more meetings to catch up in palace.

Next two days Maan was busy with his stuff and Geet busy in sharing her excitement of her visit to people as Rani Sahiba with Annie and Dadima.

Maan though being busy, would once in a while see her talking, making hand and face gesture. How can a bad person or a cheater by heart have such innocence in acts but his mind strongly objected his heart. She had cheated on her husband. Mind would shout on him and he would immediately leave.

Geet was not getting time with raja Sahib

“Geet it won’t work this way. Being Geetanjali won’t work. You have to be Geet. Abb bohut ho gaya, naraz hona hai hoyen, Baat toh kerni paregi.”

That night again Maan came late to his room thinking she must have gone to sleep but as he entered, she was awake. He tried to walk ahead, ignoring her but she ran and stood exactly in front of him, her hands wide spread

“Geet, what is this?” Geet made face, not having single idea of what her face making did to her serious-serious Raja Sahib husband

“This is me and my Hands, stopping you.”

He dropped her hand, shook his head and moved forward but she ran and again stopped his way. Maan placed his hands on his waist and looked at her keenly, uff her heartbeat changed frequency with that look

Losing her sense with his look, she blurted “You are breaking your promise” and she hit her head mentally for senseless blurt

“Really?” and he took his step forward towards her, confused with his forward move, Geet stepped back. Also it was taking tons of courage for her to speak like this to him, but she had to continue talk.

“Yes. You said we will talk. You have no time for your wife” she said

He again moved forward, making her step back and hitting the cupboard. Now she has triggered him, even unknown to him, Geet’s husband Maan came out. He bordered her both side with his hands on cabinet wall and looked intently at her

“My wife? Whose wife Geet, Maan Sir or Raja Sahib” With his closeness, him bordering her like that and this new unexpected avatar, Geet’s throat went dry. She gulped her saliva but today she had to talk to him, get his anger out.

“What’s the difference?” she tried to argue

“Difference? The difference is Geet” he paused and looked deep into her eyes. Geet blinked as he had his angry handsome face so close in front of her eyes

“You were never interested in your husband when he was boring Raja Sahib for you but very interested when your crush Maan Sir turned out to be your husband”

“No. That’s not true” she said in low voice “Really?” he challenged

“Really” she said in low voice. His closeness anyways takes her senses away and when he is in his aggressive mode, all her boldness disperses in thin air.

“Prove it.” He moved out to take his night clothes out and before entering the washroom

“And don’t forget to check your office email Geet” he said, naughtiness sparkling in his eyes. He definitely had trapped her in something. Geet made baby face, he again got her stuck in his words.

This was not at all him with anyone. Not Raja Sahib at all. He was simply hidden Maan, deep inside who was surfacing very slowly with Geet, for Geet.

As he went to washroom, Geet went to study to check her emails. BINGO!! There was email from Maan Sir. Meeting invite 9 am for project discussion. Another email on her plan for week and couple more emails. And one email expecting her to be in office

Geet made angry frustrated face “Itne bhi koi sedhe nahi hain jitney duniya ko dihkte hain. How will I win my husband if I am stuck in work with him?” She knew he will not give her single chance to talk personal as intern and that exactly was his plan.

All frustrated Geet went to bedroom only to find him peacefully lying in bed with his eyes closed. But as she saw her husband sleeping peacefully, she stopped to see his handsome face which was at peace. Unlike other days, when she had seen stress on his face even during sleep, today she felt there was smile.

She quietly moved near his face and sat on ground on her knees. She wanted to take satisfying look at her husband. She took her hand closer to feel his face but then folded her fingers and took back her hand.

The little small argument and him pouring little complain to her also brought little naughtiness in him, she realized, no one would have ever seen that glimpse of him. He was mature man loaded with responsibility for everyone. They treated him that way and thus he bearing the burden of that image and he has molded himself for that. But doing so much, he deserves a young man’s life. The life that normal 31-32-year young man would have. In personal space, no one was his partner, Dadima was two generations up, siblings were like his kids, he was guardian to them and others in family were his enemies. But she was his wife, she will be his partner. Someone to whom he can fight and complain to, get angry to. She will get his hidden nature of him, which he has buried deep within.

She knew it will not be easy to deal with him that way, he is not used to that part. But she will not add herself as his responsibility, she will share it with him, off course in her own way.

She felt angry on herself for her acts. But she was happy in one way, had she been a good wife, he would have taken her as other member of family and took responsibility of her. Now that he is angry with she will have more ways to trouble him. She chuckled in naughtiness. In their personal space, he will just be her husband, no Raja Sahib and no Rani Sahiba. They will be “Geet and” she took a deep breath gathered courage before speaking out his name “Maan”. She felt shy, closed her face with her palms.

Maan moved a little, maybe his name went in his ears. But then he turned and slept back.

Geet went on her side to sleep with a smile.
