Chapter 17 : Intrigued

The training has finished and Geet has joined her work under Adi and Anwesha under Maan.

Working with Adi and his expertise, professionally, Geet really felt blessed to have got chance to learn under such expert like Adi in finance. He was no less in position. Finance head of Khurana Enterprise. But how down to earth he was.

Other, Geet now also felt relieved that she got a breather period with Adi before she worked with Maan. Now facing Maan would be so tough. Her self-loath only increased when she thought of their growing moments. The moments that she cherished till now, only haunted her now. He was never hers and she had been doing all those with him. She started hating herself but her love for Maan only went on in upscale. She wanted to do anything that he wishes and at present she knew, he wanted her far from him. She will do her best to fulfill this wish of his.

Geet who was planning to gel with people on insistence of Brij and Meera again went in her cell. She does not deserve to be anyone’s friend. Anyone will at end only hate her, because now she started believing that is what she deserves.

But Adi still became her friend. He liked how sincerely she worked. Her focus was only in work and she was so obedient. He felt she had no friends thus he along with being a boss became her friend.  He would ask her, how her weekend was and her answer was mostly same

“Sir, finishing up whole week’s work. Apartment gets so dirty by end of week; it takes my whole Saturday. Then grocery and household stuff. Some laundry and preparation for weekdays cooking… All these task”

Sometimes he would explain her

“Geet, you are so smart and young. And you stay all alone. If you leave these task for one weekend and go outing for some refreshment, it won’t harm.”

“Yes sir”

“Did you see London and surroundings? It is something you should have explored by now.”

Geet has started sending money to Brij, which has really helped. Geet realized, she has to come out of her love story and live in reality. She can keep her one sided love story enclosed in her heart and focus on real need. Her family and their problems. This also kept her mind busy and did not let it wander in the direction where she was not needed at all.

“Yash Jiju, thanks for being such big support for family. It’s because of you that the Dad’s treatment is going so well”

“Shut Up. Is he not my Dad Geet? Being a doctor, I can make sure of best medical facility Geet but Money, we all need to pitch in. For treatment and for Family.”

“Money Jiju, Brij Veerji and me are handling. You have your family”

“And this is not mine.”

“Sorry Jiju. We are so lucky, Meera di found you. You are best Jiju.”

“Geet” “Yes Jiju”

“Geet, family responsibility I understand. You saving for family I understand but give yourself some breather Geet. Spend some money on yourself, roam around, make friends and Enjoy.”

“Yes Jiju, I am enjoying” “Please. Meera is also so worried for you.”

Maan on other side, had got best projects for Anwesha to work. He was strict on her but he was leaving no stone un turned to make her best. She will have to handle KE with him. He had bigger plans for Anwesha.

Anwesha was having busy, hectic yet best time of her life. She was working with her Bhai. In weekend she would definitely plan with friends.

It was all Maan’s doing. He had made sure to pamper his sister, spoil her and let her enjoy life to full. Eight years have worked wonder with his pampering and now Anwesha was a full enjoyable fun loving girl with loads of friends.

It was Friday and she was passing by Geet’s and Adi’s office and she knocked in to say “Hi…”

“Hi Anwesha… Weekend Started?” Adi smiled as he asked.  Geet and Anwesha came closer to give light side hug to each other

“Yes Adi Sir… Going for shopping, but all alone today”

Something strikes Adi “Take this girl with you. She need to see something other than her apartment and this office and way between the two”

“I also go to grocery and shops” Geet said in her defense

“Wow.. I missed it. You wrap up now and go with Anwesha. Anwesha you are fine”

“Off course I am more than fine. She always denies so I don’t gather courage to ask her. Will you Geet please, I am all alone”

With Adi almost ordering and Anwesha pleading, Geet thought it will be rude to say no

“Yeah Sure”

“Haha… Adi Sir, her sure doesn’t sound that sure.” Anwesha teased her. The two girls left for a high end shopping Mall. It definitely was not the place for Geet to shop and knowing Geet Anwesha did not force her. So she did her own shopping but kept Geet entertaining. She offered to buy something for Geet as friendly gesture but Geet calmly declined. Anwesha did not force. Geet accompanying her was a big thing itself.

But with Anwehsa, roaming in the Mall and having some eatery freshened Geet up. First time in her 3 months of stay in London, it was first time she was doing leisure roam around. But she obviously did not get anything for her.

She felt fresh as she sat on public but to her apartment.

“A little different start of weekend” she thought to herself

Khurana Mansion: Anwehsa came in with hands full of shopping bags. Maan smiled as he saw her struggling with bags.

“Let me help you.” But before one of the well-dressed house help reached her.

“It was fun shopping today”

“Fun? You were cribbing all your friends are occupied today and you had to go alone”

“But, I got the best one to accompany me. The one whose presence is so soothing to me. And all thanks to Adi Sir”

“Adi?”

“Noo Bhai… aap bhi na. Geet. You won’t believe that saint came to shopping with me”

“Geet? Saint?”

“Yeah Bhai.. you are out of knowledge of office normal things. Adi Sir forced her to come with me.”

Maan was really confused but now intrigued “So happy to get new partner for shopping?”

“No Bhai… she was one time offer. And No partner as she simply accompanied me. Neither would she buy anything for herself and nor will let me. But she being with me in Mall was more than I could expect.”

Now Maan felt something off, No, a lot off

“A girl, going to shopping and not buying anything?”

“Actually my mistake. If I was going with her I should have not gone to this Mall. Some place where she can buy something after checking the price tag”

“Checking the price tag?”

“Off course Bhai, she is your employee and not family to be not checking price tag like me. She obviously thinks twice before spending. Even in any new coffee shop, before buying a coffee she has habit of scanning the price before ordering.

“Jaise we go and simply order. Like we see the item and order, she will check the price and then filter the item to buy. She tries to do it casually but I have seen money scarcity so I can read her”

“Money scarcity and Geet? Really? I mean I have seen her couple of times, she looks from wealthy family”

“Yeah she dresses smartly but why I smell differently. Actually, she never lets me know but I heard she was talking about sending money to home. Something at her home, she is so worried always. But you leave Bhai, she is my friend, I am going to keep her cheered up one way or other” Maan simply kept looking at Annie.

Annie left after some random talk, which did not go inside Maan’s head. After Annie left Maan rushed to his room

“What’s the matter? Am I missing a something here? What is it?”

“Should I check? Can I check? No, I have to check.” 

He felt shaking. It was his family, are they fine or not? He was worried now. He was asked not to look back but he somehow felt the need to break the promise.

“I hope all is fine. If so then I will not interfere. But if not then I have too.”

Maan made few calls and when call is directly from Maan Sigh Khurana other side people get on full alert, even if they are the top position officials.

“I need all details by tonight and I want information directly delivered to me. No leakage will be tolerable”

“Sir the weekend has started and we need one or two weekdays to know all details to get into depth of it. If you allow us and give us some time, we can give you better information.”

“Hmm… Monday Night or Tuesday morning. I cannot afford further delay”

“Sure Sir. Thanks for the time Sir”

And the efficient team on other end gets into work on Friday evening.

Maan was restless in his room. Even at dinner he was all lost and Dadima observed

“What’s the matter beta” He gave plastic smile to Dadima

“All fine Dadima. You know business world; things keep going on”

“I understand Beta. But not at family time. Rest I don’t interfere”

That was the problem, it was family issue, in case there was any issue. And it was his family and he will not involve Dadima and Annie in that but he cannot leave the worry.

“And Bhai, don’t keep the shopping I did for you as it is in the closet. It’s casual and I want to see you in that in office on coming Friday”

“Ok. Accepted.” He smiled at her. She has ways to sooth his worry.
