Enchanted – Holi

Raja Saheb was in Kalsia on occasion of Holi. It was mega preparation going On. The Holi would be started by Raja Saheb and then whole city will be colored vibrantly. Huge Holi celebration was organized and then there was extravagant arrangement for festive foods. But people expected Rani Sahiba along with Raja sahib. Excuse related to other duties was made. People blindly accepted anything form Raja Saheb.

Political leaders of Kalsia, never made separate location for festivals to address people. They knew people will all be gathered were the Royal’s have made arrangements. 1^st the arrangement showed the love of Royals for people of Kalsia and 2^nd, if Raja Sahib is to address, then people will be present to   welcome their king with open arm. Shower their love on him.

So Political leaders came and addressed people and then came Raja Saheb. His smile and wave to people from stage and crowd went crazy. Kalsia security was so well designed, that he entered within people without any worry of attack. His body guards would be around, never to be felt by people. His words were simply love for Kalsia and affluence and growth of Kalsia. Asking them to believe in themselves, grow in life and bring pride and affluence to kalsia.

He then took colors from the huge THAL and threw in the air, twice and thrice. People went crazy. Again and Again falling in love with their Raja Sahib. He then finally waved at the crowd and left in his elegant Royal Exported Vehicle.

When back in Palace:

“Bete, I think Geetanjali should be here at this time. It’s her first Holi here and your first Holi as married man. And Kalsia has been waiting for this day”

“May be, next year Dadima” “Not maybe, I want it for sure next year. The timeline cannot be indefinite”

“Sure” he has ended it there. But he himself knew, there has to be limit to anything. If she has agreed to marriage she has to come into it. He had granted her some time as he understood, she needed to set up her brain to this whole new thing.  But sometime have to have some limit. The day Kalsia start raising question or Dadima start feeling guilty about her choice, his warnings will be in place for her. Till than she can enjoy her adventure.

Well what about him – Well he would have loved to start his married life in normal way, knowing his wife, she knowing him etc etc. But Raja Saheb, the man who had built himself and his empire to this big stature, cannot be imagined to be a man of less ego. Now that she has denied the normal relation with him, placing her conditions on this marriage, she will have to win him when she is back in relation. Or else she can just be Rani Sahiba of Kalsia, accompany him as his wife. But in bedroom, if he can hold distance in relation for her, he can hold for himself too. Rani Sahiba will stand next to Raja Saheb. To become crown of his head, she has to now win him. He shied and then left her thought there. He got busy in monitoring Mega Holi preparation and Kalsia issues and growth. Kalsia was his heart and soul.

Viccky and Annie were also there. After Raja Saheb left for Palace, they handled the people. People have seen the siblings from childhood and loved them as well.

It was Holi day, Geet had brought expensive clothing for each one. The flooded bank balance, experiencing one month of rigorous Royal life. Geet have learnt about class and what level of gifts she was expected to present. Other than Rajji, all elders were hesitant to take such expensive clothing from their married daughter, but Geet would not listen. Dadima had strictly asked her to maintain the Royalty, if she visit her family.  On her own, alone, she can lead the life as she wishes but in known public she has to abide by standard. Geet herself wore fine organdy, light yellow suit, with fine silk dupatta as they got ready for Holi play.

“Di, Holi color will spoil the beautiful suit. Wear old cotton suit” but Rano showed eyes to Rajji to shut up. Not knowing her daughter was still the same Jhalli, who would wear just anything to office, sometimes being even scolded by Maan Sir for her unprofessional dressing.

In the Holi ground, all her neighbors came to meet her. The same girl, who they would chide, or give lectures on her ways or taunt was today a celebrity. Though, most girl after marriage would get a different respect, when they come after marriage. Ladies views and approached automatically changed for girls after their marriage. But in case of Geet, it was much more. She was treated with utterly high respect. They all knew she was queen of Big Empire. Queen from their own Neighborhood, it was matter of pride. She was not only daughter of her parents now, she was daughter of whole Neighborhood. It was overwhelming for Geet. And then the way everyone was in all praise of Raja Sahib. Such humble man, he did not let them feel he is Raja Sahib. They all proudly stated, how they stood beside him. Their lips and heart were nowhere tired of his continuous praise.

Geet had learnt in one-month training, how to take the praise elegantly. She took it. But within, she knew, what was her qualification to get all attention. Her qualification was, she was married to Raja Saheb. Her own image of ‘Mohalla ke beti’ has been overtaken by wife of Raja Saheb. He had come behind her and made her image here. She was center of everyone’s attention but talks and praise were all about her husband. Now she started getting scared. Has she made a mistake to not know her husband. Only being rich cannot earn this level of praise. Did he really had the aura and personality, that applaud was so unanimous and loud, even in his absence. Has she taken something very precious for granted.

But next came the toughest part, when they started asking her about her husband. Geet tried to answer vaguely making excuses. It was tough though as people were so involved to know more and more about him and how her experience of being beloved of a king is, etc etc. Not knowing about her husband was hitting her slowly. In real life and society, life is not only independence, especially when you are married and live in society. It is intertwined with your partner. And when partner is Raja sahib, things go up to next level. She somehow handled.

They behaved as if they were his subject. For people of Kalsia she could understand their devotion and respect for their Raha Sahib but here as well. Only in 4-5 visits. She did not have inch of idea that he has made such impact on people of her own Neighborhood. Or else she would have never come here. But running away was no solution anymore. Her life has changed, she has to accept it and appreciate it.

After dinner, Geet laid in her bed. First time giving serious thought on what she was. She can pretend to be her own self; he had agreed to it all. But his gargantuan personality has overtaken her simple girl image. Commoner independent girl; she can just pretend it to be, fact was – She was now Rani Sahiba of Kalsia.

What have she gained from her own condition, her free lifestyle? Who was she kidding. He has just gifted her toy of freedom for the name of it. With his magnum opus personality, he had already engulfed her. Her zidd only looked so childish to her now. Anyone here, her own people, will see low of her if they knew her act and condition with her husband. Only one person who had not made fun of her condition or taken her condition seriously was her own husband.  Her heart somewhere has started to accept, she was actually married to someone special, just not because he was Rich or he has title. But she could not just keep running away from the fact that her husband’s personality was actually something.

Geet was proud of what she herself was, she was confident of her own charming personality. But the fear was now shadowing over her. Was his personality so mammoth that her own persona will be invisible in front of him? The person, who she has been thinking low off as being much elder to her, not modern type and youthful, now felt somewhat timid of herself compared to him.

But if there was such vast difference the why would Dadima select her to be his bride, to be Rani Sahiba of Kalsia, which was so important to her.

She later went to washroom, washed her face to bring herself back to her. It’s better to think of Maan Sir. He is her best distraction from her marriage. Her marriage which now was puzzle for her, all thanks to her. Her Maan Sir has great personality. These people have not yet met Maan sir. Till now in her whole life, it was one person who have floored her by his personality, Maan Sir. Was her husband’s personality much more than Maan Sir’s. But however hard she tried, her husband, whom she has not yet met, now overtook her thought above Maan Sir.

Geet at last slept. She had dream of her marriage that day. Lots of hustle bustle and then her hand being placed in hand of her husband and next she saw he placing vermillion on her forehead and then she saw his face – Maan Sir. Her sleep immediately broke and she rushed to washroom.

She splashed water on her face “Shit Geet. How can you even have Maan Sir in that place, even in dream” she closed her eyes, cursing herself. How far and low have she gone.

“It was just a dream” she tried to convince herself. But no, she cannot take dream as excuse, it was sin.
