Rakshak – Part 12

Maan while sitting in the cashier counter.. was pondering on the thoughts of how to proceed. He just can’t sit and cry over things. Geet has all rights to stay with him and he just can’t force her to go to her father as he is not capable of giving her the life she deserves.

He had lost all mission of his life but he got the mission now. And he is not going to leave any stone unturned.  For Geet who is standing rock solid with him, staying in a condition she would have never known ever existed and not ready to give up on him. How can he give up then, how can he not work enough to make her proud of him and give her the life she deserves? She is correct, sending her to her father when she wants a family life with her husband just because he wants to escape the hardship.

In the mean while Geet was getting better equipped chair for Savitri but when she went to swipe the card, it showed denied. After checking from bank she found her Dad have stopped her access and all funds to her.

“Ohh Dad, so you think by this you can make me leave Maan”.

She called Mohinder – “Dad now you want to show money powerto your daughter. So nothing was mine”

“All yours darling but parents have to be strict to bring their child on path”

“So leaving my husband and coming to you is right.”

“Beta you are not made to leave with low profile person like Maan…. I mean I can’t even imagine you have considered that lowest level of our employee as you husband”

“Dad not a word about Maan… you have no idea what Maan is and what he means to me”

“Hmmm Geet… I know you are so innocent and Ziddi beta thus I need you to realize that this love and accepting this middle class man is just a kidish fun for you” Geet simply cut the call.

She was roaming around the hall.. how will Maan manage. She didn’t want Maan to come under pressure for her. If he is not able to give her comfort will he send her back. But now she could not live without Maan and Savitri. This was her family and being around Maan was just enough for her. Most comfy bed in world will wake her up whole night if Maan is not beside. Andshe would 100 times prefer a walk with Maan in natural cool breeze than the AC. Then she hit herself on head.

“What am I even doing…comparing an calculating. Maan is myworld. What am I even thinking. Uff dad and his words… I give a damn of his credit card… Bas Maan should not overreact of my comfort with this news.”

“But where is Maan.. why so late” she went to Savitri and satwith her to divert herself from Maan’s thought.

That day Maan came late. Geet was so nervous but Maan had a very calm expression unlike other days when he used to be all tired and depressed. He gave soft peck on Geet;s cheek It was soft yet deep. Geet felt a different pang in her heart with this. Maan was different, very composed.

After dinner, Maan was busy checking so many papers he took out from old file. He was busy going thru them and Geet was getting curious.

“Maan you are behaving different, I am restless. ” he pulled her near her and cupped her face. “You have faith in me?” he asked very calmly “Of course I do” “Does Mom have” “You don’t even have idea how proud she is of you”

She thought now he will again go in the zone that it is coz she is my mother etc but  Maan gave a calm smile to her.

Ohh Maan was for a very change so calm and composed today but she has a news which may take his calmness away. She hated to do but she didn’t want to keep him in dark.

“Maan I have something to tell you” “Hmm” as he was busy checking the old documents and making some notes of them.

“Maa–aan” she needed his attention “Acchca Bolo” he made her sit infront of her.

“Wohh” Maan laughed. Ohh this natural laugh from Maan, it was so rare “From when have you started thinking twice before speaking.”

“Maan Dad has stopped my access to all my financials.”  “Toh apne pati pe bharosa nahi hai tumhe.” He removed all documents aside and pulled her near her. “Of course” she hugged him tight. This was so unexpected.

“Can you do me a favor” She hit him on his chest as if there will be a second thought “Ohh lagti hai” he smiled and acted of falling down.

“Tumhe lagti hai, mere haath se” she started hitting him and he just laughed and moved from here to there.

“Ok listen, tomorrow please can you call everyone one in breakfast table sharp at 9” “Sure.” Geet did not ask him. She sensed he was upto something but she simply loved this fun and calm Maan and did not want him to force to explain.

She loved how he simply ignored about her finances and all.
