And he left confused Geet behind a little brocken but still she was not able to digest that it was something other than his prank.
But she felt hurt that he did not even gave look to her, nor hugged her, no kisses and then all her efforts of decoration went in vain.
Geet sat there upset for long hours still believing it was his prank but when she woke up in the morning and did not hear anything from Maan a different kind fear started creeping inside her but still she was no where to believe that fear.
Then whole day passed and night passed too, she waited for him, his call but none came. She continuously tried to call him but he disconnected. Now Geet’s nervousness increased.
“Was he serious with what he said’. No this can’t be true. Why will he? Maan khud bhi to mere bina nahi reh sakte. And he know his behaving this way will hurt me and Maan can never hurt me, I know and I am sure of that, I will have to meet Maan ”
First it took time for her to find out Maan’s hotel as he had not told her in which hotel he will be staying and everyone was instructed not to leak this where about to her.
“What is all this I have to find out’ hey babaji, everything must be fine’. This is just a big prank’ hain na babaji” but she was not very confident now and fear was encircling her. She wanted to ensure everything anyhow.
Next morning, using her talking trick she found out in which hotel he was but in the day hours he will be in office so she has to wait till evening.
In the evening she reached his hotel and found out that he was in his suit. Geet’s heart was beating fast, now she will be able to meet him. She will ask him to end this prank, even if its not prank she will sort things out once she meet him.
The receptionist gave a taunting look to Geet when she said she wanted to meet Maan Singh Khurana.
She gave a little laugh “So you want to meet Maan Singh Khurana”
“Koi nahi Geet, once Maan is there with you then these people will keep quiet”
“Your name please” “Geet’ just tell me his room number” she said.
But receptionist dialed his room’s number
“Sir, sorry to disturb you, there is a girl Geet insisting to meet him” after hearing something from the other side.
“Hey you, you are planning to ruin my job. Sir is so upset and he does not want to meet you’ just leave now or our security will throw you out. You are not supposed to break in our office like this.”
Geet’s heart fell broke. He returned her from hotel, this was something serious. She returned to the bungalow but her each moments were like years’. She was restless but still she did not want to believe that from now onwards her life was to stay without him.
Everything he has said and done after he came back went in her mind again and again and in late night, at around 2 am she knew he was not with her. She felt caged and suffocated and restless’ Why was the big question.
“Why suddenly, why Maan‘”
“At least once we must have talked and discussed. You took all decision on your own….
aur aise apna decision suna diya aur chale gaye’ Why this way”
“Maa-aa-aa-n” she cried out loudly, not knowing what to do, or what will her life be without him.
“How can he lead a life without me’ we shared so much….. nahi, I won’t let him go away this way’ he have to speak to me, tell me the reason of his sudden behavior”
“I will meet Maan once …’ just for once I just want to know why’ even if he has decided so, we could have done on friendly note but why this way‘”
Again she went lost in her thought and after long a painful voice came from her mouth
“Maan left’ he left me forever’ he really left me” and a big drop of tears dropped from her eyes.
Next morning she reached his office and being with him she knew somewhat of the project he was working on these days. So she somehow managed at reception to convince them that she needed to meet Maan for work. It was just by chance that Maan was having meeting in conference room regarding that project.
They led her directly to the conference room, Maan was shocked to see her.
“You?? ”
This was the last place he had expected her. According to their deal they would keep their personal issue personal but today she had broken that. Actually on her part, he had left her with no option but he took it completely otherwise
“Ohh so she wants to make things public’.. she wants to blackmail me now”
Geet was not believing that after so much trouble she was at last in front of him
“Maa-aan” came from her mouth as tears made its way through her eyes.
“Mr. Maan Singh Khurana or Mr. Khurana is what people call me in office. No body dares to call me Maan in my office”
He said with full attitude and anger. How can she talk like personal in his office. He had always believed to keep his personal life away from his professional.
Geet did not know what to say. She had never thought in these days, with their intimacy that she will ever find it so difficult to talk to him. She gathered courage..
“I will wait outside the conference room, we can talk after you finish with this meeting”
“Do you know, you are here with wrong ways. I have nothing to talk so no need to stay… just leave”
“No I will not leave without talking to you’ if you don’t want me to wait then just answer my question now”
“Geet, you are crossing your limit”
“Just give me answer to my questions’. Why did you do this, just let me know”
Maan’s anger was rising now. “How can she talk such things in my office”
“How low can you go’. You want to make things public and blackmail me’ don’t ever try, your life will become a mess”
“What more mess can it be” she thought.
“I am not liable to answer any of your question.” And now with his words the staff in the conference started looking at Geet as someone low, after all Maan called her like that.
“Maan what are you talking’. Why will I do so? I just want to know why sudden change” she was not liking to discuss it in front of everyone but Maan would otherwise not talk
“I am sure now I am correct in my thought about your intentions’ you just proved it by coming publicly in office’ You want to make things public”
“I wanted to talk with you alone, you insisted you will not talk. I have no option.. I want my answer”
“Achcha’ then listen everyone’ let me introduce you to her.. Geet Handa, one of several girl in my life” Geet immediately closed her eyes feeling the humiliation’ she could not gather what was problem with him.
She wanted to leave but Maan by that time became so angry on her that he completely lost track of right or wrong’.
“Maan please stop it‘” “Everyone leave‘.” Everyone left but the news spread in office like fire
Geet was leaving too but he held her by arm’. Maan wanted to prove himself right
“Now you be here’. How dare you come here” Now as no one was there
“Maan yeh kya ho gaya hai aapko’ mujhe ek baar bola to hota kyun”
“See’ I had made it very clear in the beginning itself”
“But Maan our relation is much beyond what it was in the beginning”
“ohh so here you come’. You want to tie relation with MSK… hmm” he smiled evilly
“Tumhare jaise chote shaher ke ladki se aur umeed bhi kya kee ja sakti hai’. MSK ke samne apnee aukat ka andaza bhi hai tumhe’
I know very well, after coming so close to Maan Singh Khurana it is being tough to break ties, this luxury and name being attached with Maan Singh Khurana. What were you planning, ke apne bholi surat se tum mujhe phasa logi
Main tumhare saath kuch din reh kya liya tum to khud ke aukaad he bhool gayee’. Main tumhare liye shayad ek motee aasamee tha but you were just fun for me.”
And he kept on saying and saying everything that deep within he very well knew were wrong in her context and not true, Geet has always made sure see uses none of his facility as MSK and she had kept relation with Maan BUT to keep himself not getting weak by hearing her words or thinking otherwise, which would lead in change of his decision he said all those words which he would never have said. He didn’t care if what he said was wrong or right, this suited his situation now.
To hide his weakness of heart he spoke the words which he would regret whole his life and which would in future always remain as an unwanted thorn of his life. He will try hard to erase this day from his life but it will never ever leave him.
For Geet, she was broken beyond repair.
After his long hour of accusation Geet looked up to him with a very weak smile
“Sorry I came to wrong address; I was looking for Maan but by mistake landed to Maan Singh Khurana’s office.
Actually the person I am looking does not exist so how can I find him. I am sorry Mr. Khurana”
But the lump formed in her voice when she said “Mr Khurana”. One big drop of tears dropped from her eyes and she turned. But that one tear made Maan’s heart skip the beat.
She left and was walking aimlessly on road completely unaware of her surrounding. Her mind was completely blank. She somehow reached his bungalow, one part of her mind talking to taxi but other parts does not even remember how she has reached there. Completely absentmindedly she packed her clothes and her stuff. Saw the address he has given her for the new apartment and left there. She just dumped things, closed the door and sat down on the floor blankly. She was not in conscious to notice that she had no tears in her eyes, she was just blank.
