Bandhan – Part 51

Back then when Geet had expressed her wish to join internship in HP, Maan was first bit let down but then he had realized that her decision was correct. He would never oppose her if she is taking her decisions for her career. That should actually be her independent choice.

But then few incidents made Maan realize that Geet was taking their relation for granted. There was no doubt that she loved him above all but then her giving priority to other things in name of society and family sacred Maan that in her goodness to world she will end up draining the passion between them. He was completely not going to take that.

It started with :

Once back then, Maan closed Geet’s eyes. “Maan what is it” Geet was so excited. Maan handed something in Geet’s hand. It felt like smooth hard paper. He slowly opened her eyes. Geet looked into Maan’s eyes before looking into what he had placed in her hand. There was glint in his eyes with excitement and naughtiness. He signaled her to look into what he had handed. Geet scanned the tickets to Europe that he had placed in her hand. He loved the natural glow in her face. Before checking further she simply hugged him tight.

“It’s 1 month Honeymoon trip to Europe” “I love you, love you so much Maan”

She then casually checked the date. Maan could read the change in her expression. Her excitement changed to formal smile to him and she hugged him “Thank You”

Maan knew Geet so well, he could read some hesitation even without her telling him. Maan sent Geet to kitchen and then went to their room. He was casually checking his files when his eye went to the letter. It was Geet’s internship letter. It had start date. It was clearly mentioned that if she misses that date she will have to miss this year and join next year. Maan knew the date is coming in mid of their Honeymoon dates. Somewhere it hit Maan. Was Geet’s passion for him, their relation, their togetherness not way above all. Maan had moved his really really big deals for this HM but Geet giving a second thought due to internship. She nowhere was wrong practically but it pained him. His world revolved around her.

“No How can I even think like that. I know she loves me more than anything” he scolded himself. “Thinking about career is not wrong” he consoled but it was paining.

Maan went to Geet and hugged her from behind “Why did you not tell me about your internship dates?”

“Nahi Maan. Will do next year. You have arranged it with so much love and for me everything is above your wish” she said hanging herself on him. It hit Maan. The excitement level was not that high. So she wants to go there for his wish. He was doing it for her and for them. Any girl, rich or poor would be excited for their Honeymoon of 1 month in Europe. But Geet was going there just to favor his wish.

He was intrigued to check further now “Geet, what I think is you should not waste one year of internship for Honeymoon. Honeymoon I can arrange anytime but you should not compromise year like this”

The glint in Geet’s eyes on hearing this hit Maan “Maan you really think so. I am so happy Maan. Mujhe laga aapko bura lagega. HM you have to arrange and you can do it anytime, haina?” She kissed him on his cheeks “Let’s get done with this internship then without baggage we can plan” Maan smiled, chocking inside.

He was in deep thought, Geet’s declining his hospital offer, giving internship above the HM with him in Europe. After deep thought, Maan knew now what was happening. Geet was like a child who got things without even asking for and in such cases people don’t realize the importance of rarest of rare things they are getting. Maan has been and was still providing best of best to Geet even before she would utter for it. He was there for her any place she would need him even before she realized she will need him. This proving her before need was lessening her excitement for anything he provided. She was accepting things to make him happy. She was now not realizing that he provided her for her need, her comfort or her happiness. Maan felt scared that this would lessen the passion between them. He knew Geet loved him above all but he wanted to now see that passion for him in her eyes. He wanted her to enjoy each thing that she has. He wanted her to enjoy their passion, wanted her to cherish their relation. It can only happen if she earns them hard and not provided in plate.

Present:

Geet said bye to all in the HP clinic and other locals for whom she had done all she could do. Everyone thanked her and her Chote Thakur for all facilities that have been provided for lesser means sector. Due to the goodwill she has earned, the work that she has done for locals, gained her respect. Maan had made her work hard for all development she had been wishing. She had to go through all basic process to achieve each things and at end he would facilitate after seeing her genuine hard effort. The main reason for him doing so was to make her gain respect as Geet and not as wife of Chote Thakur. Maan had realized, initially these same people had indirectly made many comments on her and were thinking that she was showing superiority by doing social service for them. Maan had thus removed himself from scene, making Geet do effort. People seeing all her hardship and then at end he would facilitate her. Geet’s hard work has at end gained her respect more than her being his wife.

His other reason was to make Geet realize the happiness of each achievement.

In this 1.5 years, it’s not that Maan had not visited HP but very few times. He had visited here in 3 or 4 months’ gap. Once he had visited in 2-month gap when he himself had felt restless missing her.

Geet had to just meet few people and her arrangements were set. Now everyone loved and respected her thus she has to just say and things would be ready. It was all her own hard earned.

Geet went to her 1-bedroom suit. She looked around the small house, remembering how she had got it. Maan had made her look for decent house for her if she did not want to stay in Haveli. He had declared, if she is working in HP she has to make her arrangements proper.

She remembered, when he had been decline all the rooms that she had selected. They did not suit even his minimal expectation for her stay “Please Maan. You just select and let me know. I will stay wherever you wish.”

He had out rightly denied any help, that was 1st time the decline started “Geet you are planning to serve people here. How do you plan to do so if you can’t afford to find a place for your own self.” 1st time rejection from him had hit her.

“I have my work in Geetanjali. I can’t be available for your work here. You need to handle your career aspirations on your own.” Geet smiled to herself in present.

How she had work day night with locals, looking for rooms after rooms. The rooms have to be between the people whom she will serve and also be of his minimal expectations. She would settle anywhere but he had been rejecting. At the end this 1 bedroom house is what he had approved for her living.

She didn’t knew then, it was just the start. 1.5 yrs and she has still to go long way to go to woo back her husband, she knew now.

Maan just entered to his home office room and switched the monitor. He saw his wife lost in thought. He smiled. looking at his beautiful wife always filled him with love and desire. He will now never show it to Geet, but he knew how restless he was to meet her the next day.
