Rakshak – Part 2

Geet and her group had started enjoying; they changed to the pool side dresses, in which Geet elegantly was adorned by wrap on top of her swim suit.   They started with barbecue and having fun- swimming, shouting, playing games and hell lot of activities…

 They were drowning in the atmosphere and  all this while Ronit was trying his best to get lonely with Geet but he wondered how it happened that every time someone or the other came to disturb…

 Sometimes small girl came with flower for Geet, sometimes a young girl to make friends with Geet. What was happening and why especially every time when he figured out to be alone with Geet. He saw everywhere to see if Maan was there but he could not locate him…

 Silly him… how could Maan be here when he did not know the location of party.

 Party went in bloom and all friends had dance and drink… Ronit sweetly made sure Geet was fully drunk. He saved himself from drinking.

 It was 11pm and no one was ready to leave. This was best chance. He nicely managed to disperse all the friends…

 “Geet come, you are not in sense, I will leave you “

 “How come you are in sense” Geet asked all drowsy.

  “Geet you are asking silly questions, come I will drop you” he had his fingers crossed. Whole day he had waited for this time. But to his surprise, suddenly a voice came

 “Sir, you don’t need to worry, I will take Mam“

 “No, in this condition, I can’t leave Geet with you alone“

 “same goes with me sir, I can’t leave Mam alone with you. I am just doing my duty.”

 “Do you know who I am and what kind of blame you are trying to put.”

 “Wait you both and Maan I am fine with Ronit.” Geet was still not able to stand and then passed out. Maan without any argument picked Geet on his shoulder and left to the vehicle provided to him for his job.

 Ronit just kept looking; his whole weeks’ plan and whole day effort just got washed away in a second. From where did this Maan appear? Now he was sure to fix this Maan.

 Next day there was knock in Maan’s one room quarter, which was in premise of Handa Mansion itself.

 “Maan, Mohinder sir is very upset. He is immediately calling you.”

 Maan rushed and there he came to know that Ronit has complained about his misbehavior and all. Mohinder scolded Maan for going beyond his limit and he should remember what Ronit is and what his position is and that Maan has to be in limit.

Maan tried to explain but Mohinder was not buying it. “sir, I was only doing my duty.“

 “Maan if next time you cross your limit, you will be thrown out. Don’t take our liberty for granted.”

 Maan agreed quietly.

 “And listen. I have trusted you with Geet, don’t let me down on that. If you break my trust with Geet or her safety, I will put you in such condition that you will hate this life.”

Maan was in his room “what did I do, I was just doing my duty. Ronit sir was definitely planning something. “

But he was scared, his job should not go. Though he was BG, but as Geet was under his security and Mohinder did not want to risk it he paid Maan good amount.

 He called his home “Chachu I have sent the money“ 

“yeah we have received it but it’s not your money only Maan that this house is running on. Your all money goes in the medicine and treatment of your mother.”

 Maan knew it was lie that his whole money they spent on his mother’s treatment but he have no other option “I understand Chachu.”  Then Maan hesitated, he wanted to talk to his mother. His chachu looked at the women in wheelchair “she is in puja“ 

Anytime they did not let him talk to his mother. His chachi then took the phone and taunted him left and right for not giving a visit. It was not that she was missing him but they all were curious of what job he got as 12^th pass that he is able to send such amount at home.

 Then his elder cousin came on phone and he again made Maan realized that how he should be obliged to them. They easily have forgotten what he has lost in all the process and they make sure to make him forget what he has given to the family and in that process what all he has lost.

 And what had happened to his sacrifice , latter they had made sure to convert him from most brilliant student to the boy of laughter. Making sure in all way that all and he too, knew he was of no use. His self confidence was snatched. And most it had hurt when his invalid mother had to helplessly watch others ruin life of her son. Maan has lost whatever left confidence he have to convince his mother that he was OK. She blamed herself for Maan’s condition. Had she not been invalid or alive this way, no one would have been able to destroy her brilliant son. Maan hated this thought of her. His mother was his only strength and he will do anything for her better health and happiness. His career, his confidence and his ego were all behind when his mother was concerned. And these people have used it all in their own favors. He was innocent child after all, when he was left alone in world with his invalid mother.

 Maan could not bring her here. There she stayed in such big house of theirs, and here, where will he keep her? In this one room servant’s quarter. And expenditure of her treatment in this big city will be beyond his reach. Their at least they are able to get her treatment. He just hopes that they don’t play around with that. He was sending money regularly.

 But he also knew, they know his mother was his weakness, till she is alive he was under their control. So they will not harm her. And above all Maan’s mother was not ready to leave the house where she had come as a bride and stayed with her husband. And she wanted Maan to not leave his claim ever on this huge house. She knew this was their plan, make Maan dumb and snatch this whole big havelli to their name.

 Maan threw water on his face. He was mentally tired but he knew he has to go on. On top of unlimited family issue, Mohinder sir is angry on him. He just hope that Geet Mam is not angry at him.

 There was again a knock and there was a maid servant “Maan, Geet madam is calling you“

 Maan knocked Geet’s door “Come in” came her strong voice. Maan knew today his day was not good. But he was ready for all till he does not lose his job.

 “What do you think of yourself Maan, just because I talk friendly with you does not make you my decision maker. You have crossed your limit yesterday Maan.” 

She pointed at herself “I, Geet Handa, your boss, ordered you to let me go with Ronit and you dared to pick me on your shoulder. How dare you“

 “Mam, I was just“

 “Ok mam.” Maan left.

  He had some where to go for his own work, actually buy simple cell phone for his mother but Geet had ordered him to stay in Mansion till Ronit comes and Ronit, to show his fake anger to Geet had delayed his visit. His other intension was also to show Maan his place. 

“Kuch nahi samjhti Geet Mam” Today definitely was not his day. 

Ronit later came after hours and Geet called Maan. She did not know how to apologize so only scolding Maan in front of Ronit was a way she thought.

 Maan came. “Maan go to Ronit and apologize for your act and I mean a real sorry“

 Maan went in front of Ronit “I am sorry sir for my act.“

 Ronit could not leave a chance. He placed one hard slap on Maan’s face “Dare you come between our friendship. Iskee aukat kya hai Geet“

 Geet did not like that part of hitng. “Ok Ronit, don’t get physical. I have already scolded him for his deed.”

 She looked sternly at Maan “now leave.”
