Saathiya – Part 28

 

Geet kept on calling till late night but Maan could not gather courage to pick. His words were stuck in this throat and he knew she will be even restless if she hears his chocked voice. It was pretty late, when Ranoo on indication of Mohinder, took Geet’s phone from her and made her sleep.

 

It was 4 am in the morning, Maan who had drifted to tiredness an hour back felt a movement in his bed and a hand slipped around his waist from his back. Involuntarily, he caught the palm and even in sleep he knew it was her. Heavy sleep due to mental tiredness he took it as part of his dream and in sleep pulled her hand even closer. She pushed herself to be even closer to him. Maan smiled in his sleep but soon he felt deep kisses on bare part of his vests and even above the vest. He turned his side and as he turned his lips brushed hers. Maan opened his eyes immediately “TUM?” “Yahan?”  “How?”

Geet snuggled closer to him “Umm sone do na. I have not slept whole night”

Maan pulled her closer, it was such a soothing feeling. His heart has ached so bad and she was the soothing balm to all his pain. He pulled her closer. Can’t wake her up

“Now that you have decided, meri bachi huee image bhi jaye Dad ke samne.. then what can I do” he pulled her even closer. But all his effort to get into sleep went away as Geet kept on kissing his bare chest and then moved to his face. Maan at last gave up trying and sat up. Geet sat up with him and cuddled herself close to him, holding his strong arms and placing her head on his chest.

 

She hugged him “Sorry.. I will talk to uncle and tell him everything. He just can’t blame you like that. Sab ke samne unhone..”

Maan placed his fingers on her lips “Shh-hh he is my Dad… he has all rights. If I have not been able to win his trust, I am lacking in my efforts somewhere”

“No, I am going to tell him everything” “You are not telling him anything and you are also changing your decision to stay here”

He then looked at her and then his rooms door which was closed…. He gave her questioning look

“Window se… Viccky helped me. You were not picking my phone, what option did I have.”

He shook his head “You are definitely planning to get me killed from Dad’s bare hand”

“No its all my doing and I will take all blame” he placed his hand on his head “Ek kee to image achche rehne do…. Trust me it’s not easy to win back trust. I can’t bear Dad thinking anything wrong about you. You are his acche wali bachche and I love that part” He paused “Mere liye please”

“And what about your image” “Credit goes to all my old records. No one to blame Darling. I will work on that. But you can help me” “How?”

“Start your packing for US. All arrangements are done. Send all the remaining documents. And let everyone know, you are going to join NASA.”

“No I am not joining NASA” “Yes you are and that is final. I know how important it is for you, how you have been waiting for it… aur abb ye achanak”

She held his hand in hers “I can’t stay away .. far from you… I will work here Na…”

Maan straightened himself and brought her hand closer “Darling listen.. you know it but let me explain… NASA experience is not a game. You know even for starting a new research center, you need experience from such organization. And careerist person like you, I can’t let you leave the best opportunity for my love. Isse to hum Dost hee sahi the, at least you did not get weak in that relation. My love is making you weak”

“But away from you” “That’s not only your problem, it’s my problem as well. You focus on your career. I will do something to keep coming to you.”

He pulled her closer and kissed her cheeks “How can I stay away from my Darling for long”

She made baby face “Now go… koi aa jayega toh meri toh jo band bajnee hai so hai… you will also come in wrap” but before Geet could get up from bed Maan’s door opened and his Mom entered

“Geet, tu yahan.. iss waqt” “Aunty woo”

“Beta you know your Uncle. If he comes to know you are here” Geet went and hugged Maan’s mom “Aunty, Maan ko aise kyun Danta Uncle ne.. It was all my fault. How could I have left him in this situation alone”

Maan’s Mom let Geet out and asked both of them to take rest.

Later in a day, Maan made sure Geet let everyone know of her decision that she is joining NASA.

She then went to Maan’s Dad- Rajendra “Uncle, I am leaving in a week. I want you to lend me Maan this whole time. I want to spend my all time with him before I leave Or else I won’t go”

“Beta … he will only talk rubbish and divert your brain. Be stuck on your decision. Only then I will let him be with you” Geet hugged Rajendra

“Thank you Uncle.” As she was leaving, she turned and said “Uncle he loves you a lot. Please use naraz mat hoyeeye” he smiled at her.

 

Later in night, Maan was still looking into his files. He was planning to take something big on his own this time and working hard on it. Non in KH had thought in that direction but Maan wanted to take it all on his own.

His cell buzzed “Darling”

“Geet, will talk to you later. In mid of something”

“No… I have to tell you something. Lekin uske pehle just to let you know, you need to cancel all your appointments for 1 week” Maan shied

“Geet you know what I feel” “What?” “Our souls have been exchanged” “Wow how romantic”

“Not romantic…you are becoming old me after making me workaholic like old Geet. In short, I have busy week, sorry darling can’t run after you. Waise band baja rakhi hai tumne meri”

Geet made baby face “Don’t do that.” “Listen, you are spending this whole week with me till I leave”

“Geet aise aise ideas AAte kahan se hain tumhare pass” “Why what happened?”

“First changing your decision to not join NASA and then announcing it to everyone as surprise. And then after Dad asked you to not talk to me, You gate crashing, No window crashing my room in early morning and now this idea of me spending whole week with you”

“Maan woo uncle se”

“Why don’t you do one thing. You better hand gun to Dad and ask him to kill me. Aise plans se dying everyday at his hand, that will be better for me. And he will get jail. It will serve him better too.. Mere jaise bete pe haath uthane se koi jail bhejega nahi. Murder charge me hee chale jayen”

Geet was laughing holding her stomach, listening to his blabbering

“You are laughing at my plight.. maazaa aa raha hai tumhe”

“Maan I am laughing…” she was still tumbling on bed holding her stomach “Kaise chirchire ho gaye ho tum”

“GEET!!!!”

“GEET… bad me gaa lena. Listen now, I have got permission from Uncle and he had allowed. Say thanks to me. Smart me” she held her collar, which was invisible.

“No Thanks to you as I am seriously working on something very important. And I don’t want distractions” Geet made an ‘O’ shaped face. But soon

“Maan I want to seriously spend each minute with you” Maan shied “Me too darling, but seriously don’t know how. You know I will leave everything and come to you, but if you know later that I have missed this chance, its you who will be angry on both of us”

“Ok you carry on with your work, I will hang around with you. License mil gayee uncle se mujhe”

“Ummaah… done” she cut the call after hanging on to his “Umhaan” for long
