Saathiya – Part 27

It did not take Rajendra, Maan’s Dad to find out that Maan shifted the meeting and was rushing to Geet. His antenna on Maan’s intention to stop Geet got even alert.

 

In evening Geet had invited everyone to Handa Haveli. Geet had arranged tea, light drink and snacks arranged. Everyone only thought Geet wanted to have some time together before leaving. Geet would leave in a week. Vicky was also there.  Geet was excited and looking at Maan, who was on snack table serving himself.

“So everyone, I have an announcement to make” All, along with Maan was confused. Rajendra eyes went on Maan. He was already upset and concerned with Maan visiting Geet in the afternoon. And now announcement coming from Geet.

“I have planned to drop my NASA Offer.” “What?” came in unison. Maan too stopped where ever he was.

“I have planned to do my research here in India. Also I have planned to start new Research center here. And I want Maan to help me with it. And he will, haina Maan” she turned towards the super confused and shocked Maan.

Then she turned to all “Don’t be shocked all. I am very happy and sure with this decision. And this is final”

But soon they heard the sound. Everyone turned towards the sound and see that Maan was having his hand on his cheek and he was looking at Rajendra and Rajendra looking at him with fire in his eyes. Plate in Maan’s hand was on round, broken.

Before all could react, Rajendra pulled Maan again by his collar and placed another hard slap on his cheek.

Maan was in so much shock with this sudden act. He just kept looking at his Dad. After couple of minutes, he realized, everyone was watching them. Geet was looking all shocked as well and then his younger brother viccky and both family.

“Dad” “Shut Up” Rajendra pulled him by his collar

Geet ran “Uncle please, listen” Rajnedra signaled her to stop where ever she was. Geet could not disobey as Raj had fire in his eyes.

“You” he shook, shocked Maan by his collar “You have decided to let me down. You selfish brat. The angel who taught you how to make your life, you, for selfish reason is playing with her mind. Chii”

Maan was by now so broken with his Dad’s distrust on him. Deep pain in his eyes, no words came out from his lips for explanation. He took his steps back.

Geet’s heart felt a pang as she saw the pain in Maan’s eyes. “Uncle Please, try to listen” she tried to calm Rajendra

“Not now Beta” Rajendra said in soft yet stern voice. Maan signaled her to not say a word.

“How Shame less you can be. This is what you had been trying, I knew it all along.” Maan gulped his saliva, pain of not yet being able to gain trust of his Dad. What’s the use of becoming successful for the world. He again took back his steps.

“Raj listen. You are just guessing. Let Maan explain, let Geet explain” said Mohinder “I know Maan”

“No you don’t know him. I know, his selfishness is now beyond my patience now. And he is playing with Geet’s innocent brain.”

“No uncle, it’s all wrong you are getting. It’s all my decision” But this even triggered Raj and he again held Maan’s collar “See the difference. Still this girl is protecting you” he left Maan in jerk who almost fell backward. Maan’s eyes was what Geet was looking at. It had deep pain and he looked broken, badly broken. She knew as he was not speaking a word. Geet wanted to run and handle Maan.

Raj continued with his accusation “Don’t I know why he left his important meeting and went to meet you this afternoon.” He looked at Geet “And now you coming with this announcement”

“No Uncle I called Maan” “Enough Geet Beta. Now don’t lie for him”

Everyone tried to stop Rajendra but he was nowhere listening and made disgusting look at his son. Feeling so down in front of his friend. Maan’s Mom, asked Maan to speak but he said nothing. Simply left from there. Geet ran after him but Rajendra held her arm.

“You are not meeting him and spoiling your life.” Geet pleaded with her eyes, trying to make him understand. Requesting him to let her go.

“Please uncle, Maan didn’t know about it. Please let me go to him. Please uncle” she begged “No, he will handle himself. If you want to disobey me, go to him”

Raj felt ashamed and left with his wife and Vicky from there. Broken Geet sat down on ground, tears rolling down her eyes.

What has she done. Everything went out of proportion. She had never imagined things would go this way. She knew how Maan was working hard to prove himself to his Dad.

Rano and Mohinder asked Geet to compose but she was restless “Dad please please I need to go to Maan. Please Dad.” She begged “Pease Dad, request uncle, please” she was pathetically restless. Mohinder for the first time saw more than friendship in Geet’s eyes for Maan. The way she was uncontrollable

“It was all my decision Dad. I cannot stay away from Maan Dad. I cannot stay away from him” she cried and Mohinder knew then and there their relation has gone way beyond friendship.

“Ranoo, please calm her down. Geet compose yourself beta. I will talk to Rajendra. He is not going to listen as of now. Give some time.”

“No Dad, I need to go to Maan now” she kept crying. Ranno had to literally drag her to her room and calm her down, which was not working.

Maan in his room was all numb. He was still worthless as per his Dad. His dad did not trust him at all. He was working day night to prove himself and above all to prove to his Dad. He so much wanted his Dad to be proud of him. He was doing great in his career. His name has appeared in youth Icon in business sector but he felt hopeless. He has not been able to make his Dad proud. Proud? His Dad felt low of him. His Dad was ashamed of him. His Dad felt he lowered his head. 

He had been slapped in front of Viccky – Will Viccky ever respect him as elder brother. Will Vicky ever come to him, look up to him. The answer looked No to him. Viccky was too nice to give him respect of elder brother. He never deserved it. Always giving useless advice to him. Where is Dad wrong to not trust him.

Maan’s heart ached. But how can Dad think he will spoil Geet’s career? His Dad did not trust him for Geet. He was planning to talk about his and Geet relation but how now? He was accused in front of all. He felt pathetic.

Maan saw his cell ringing “Darling” flashing on it. He did not have strength to speak to her. All his confidence at this moment had gone to drain.

Geet kept on calling till late night but Maan could not gather courage to pick. His words were stuck in this throat and he knew she will be even restless if she hears his chocked voice. It was pretty late, when Ranoo on indication of Mohinder, took Geet’s phone from her and made her sleep.
